You will design and oversee critical CNC processes and equipment used to produce our products. In this highly visible role, you’ll collaborate closely with Product Design, Industrial Design, Manufacturing Design, and global suppliers. Your responsibilities include ensuring optimal design for CNC manufacturing such as milling, turning, and multi-axis machining. You’ll utilize data, hands-on development, and testing to guide decisions regarding equipment selection, tooling, cutting strategies, CAM software, and more. At Apple’s scale, your contributions will have substantial global impacts.
- Proficiency with CAD / CAM
- Ability to design machining manufacturing processes from concept to implementation
- Ability to provide manufacturability feedback to designers
- Hands-on CNC machining experience
- Experience with machining, cutting-tool selection and fixture design
- BS in Mechanical, Manufacturing, Industrial Engineering, or related field
- Willingness to travel domestically and internationally (~20%
- Manufacturing experience with high-cosmetic parts
- Siemens NX CAD/CAM
- CNC Process Qualification
- Experience in statistical analysis and process control
- Experience with CNC controllers
