Job Description
The Risk Modeling Unit (RMU) at Chubb is responsible for describing the company’s risk profile using a stochastic capital model and evaluating Chubb's internal economic capital. The Calibration team within RMU works with various internal teams and external regulators to ensure the capital model accurately reflects Chubb's risk profile.
We are seeking a motivated and detail-oriented Senior Actuarial Analyst to join the Calibration team within the RMU. The ideal candidate will contribute to Chubb’s Risk Modeling efforts by supporting the calibration of the stochastic capital model and collaborating with experts in actuarial, catastrophe modeling, and asset management. This position is based in Whitehouse Station, NJ.
Responsibilities:
- Assist in the calibration of the stochastic capital model, ensuring parameters and inputs are accurate and up-to-date. Use calibration models and technology platforms to support business needs.
- Support the quarterly production of global economic indices such as interest rates, inflation and exchange rates. Collaborate with Asset Management to ensure accurate representation of Chubb’s asset risk.
- Follow established governance processes for calibration methods and procedures. Document and monitor model limitations, and assist in identifying areas for improvement.
- Assist in preparing materials and data for internal model regulatory approvals in France and Switzerland. Provide analytical support for risk profile evaluations and other business areas, such as Treasury and subsidiaries’ strategic planning.
Qualifications
Qualifications:
- BS/BA Degree or higher in Mathematics, Actuarial Science, Statistics, Finance, or a related field
- 3+ years of actuarial experience
- Progress toward ACAS or FCAS credential preferred
- Familiarity with a programming or querying language, such as SQL / R / Python along with a keenness for data (collection, manipulation, report design, sensibility checks, and attention to detail) is a plus
- Familiarity with concepts in statistics and data science
- Ability to work independently and communicate ideas effectively
- Well organized and able to maintain good documentation and record keeping
- Desire to work in a fast-paced, fluid environment with a focus on innovation and continuous improvement.
