To support the full reconciliation process including providing Balance Sheet reconciliation/account analysis and identifying enhancements to reconciliations, analysis and underlying processes.
Key Responsibilities
- Assist the Head of Finance Operation Centre in construction of the Regional Finance Operation Centre team where required.
- Ensuring all applicable countries reconciliations are fully and successfully transitioned to the Centre
- Carry out steady state tasks to ensure
- The Blackline reconciliation system is fully and accurately populated with necessary data
- Reconcile all selected accounts to levels that comply with Chubb’s reconciliation policy and general accounting principals
- Construct analysis sheets to support the reconciliations
- Provide expert commentary and findings on the analysis and communicate with in-country finance teams in regard to actions and timings
- Submit quarterly assignment status report to the country finance team.
- Assist in quarterly dashboard metrics and follow-up on the reconciliation open items/issues.
- Assist and support in monthly and quarterly reporting for Regional Office in Singapore
- Support daily APAC journals and Concur T&E for Regional Office
- Support on other ad hoc report submission or related tasks as required.
- Maintain and evolve reconciliation process and analysis to ensure the quality and meaning of the resultant reconciliations are at optimal levels
- Ensure all service level agreements, turnaround times, and quality KPIS’s are met or bettered
- Identify, research and develop complimentary processes to the core reconciliation process that will add value to overall process
Assist with developments and transition of related finance processes and tasks that will assist individual country finance teams and improve finance functions across the region as a whole
Skills & Experience Required:
- Degree /Advanced Diploma in Accounting or member of Professional Accounting Body Minimum – A Degree Holder or a member of the professional accountancy body recognized by Malaysian Institute of Accountants (MIA)
- Excellent knowledge of finance and accounting procedures across the range of finance functions with particular attention on balance sheet management and reconciliations as well as R2R process which compliance with IFRS and GAAP reporting.
- Demonstrate analytical skills, high level of accuracy and attention to details is essential
- Able to communicate effectively with all stakeholders, both internal and external. As a member of the regional office the successful candidate will be required to communicate with all levels of management and employees from the regional executive down to in-country staff
- Able to introduce efficient work practices, work through issues, prioritize tasks and manage work load
- Ability to recognize, communicate and act on opportunities and potential process/technical improvements as and when they arise
- Proven performance as a subject matter expert in accounting and balance sheet management. Especially in Financial Reporting & Compliance with IFRS & GAAP. While the successful candidate will not necessarily require insurance specific accounting skills, experience in finance related industries (e.g. banking, accounting, audit, etc) will be advantageous.
- Efficient in Microsoft Excel and fluent in spoken and written English
- Experience in using Oracle PeopleSoft, Cognos and Blackline system will be advantageous
- Audit Experiences in the big 4 will be advantageous
