Position Summary
The School of Nursing is looking to hire two (2) Columbia University students to assist (primarily in-office, but occasionally remotely) with nationwide research studies exploring hospice and palliative care, as well as infection prevention and control, in long-term settings. The candidate will work with a team of researchers at the Center for Health Policy at Columbia University School of Nursing.
Responsibilities
Duties will include:
Participating in recruitment activities including:
- Verifying contact information for nursing homes and home health agencies and preparing faxes/mailings;
- Recruiting nursing home and home health agency staff and caregivers through phone calls and emails;
- Mailing incentives;
Providing assistance with manuscript publishing and grant writing:
- Formatting according to author and grant guidelines;
- Building EndNote files for manuscripts and grants;
- Inputting data into tables and generating graphs;
Conducting literature searches and systematic reviews in Covidence;
Providing assistance with conference presentations and posters:
- Formatting posters according to conference instructions;
- Inputting data into tables and generating graphs for posters and Powerpoint presentations;
Assisting with survey programming and maintenance in RedCAP and Qualtrics;
Assisting with data entry and data cleaning;
Attending weekly research-related meetings (via Zoom), and Performing other related duties, as assigned.
This is a grant-funded position and continued employment is contingent upon the grant.
Minimum Qualifications
Requires a bachelor's degree.
Excellent interpersonal and communication skills. Ability to work well in a team. Familiarity with research methods and ethics.
Preferred Qualifications
Previous experience with Microsoft Access, RedCAP or Qualtrics, and a citation manager (e.g., Zotero, Mendeley, EndNote) is desired.
