The Data Governance Senior Associate supports DTCC’s enterprise data governance framework by ensuring consistent execution of policies, standards, and procedures across business units. This role focuses on maintaining data quality, lineage documentation, and compliance tracking to meet regulatory and audit requirements. DG Senior Associate collaborate with Data Governance Tech Lead, Data Stewards, DG Business Leads, and technology teams to promote transparency and enforce governance controls.
Your Primary Responsibilities:
- Assist DG Tech Lead in monitoring governance activities and ensuring compliance with established Data Governance policies, standards, and procedures — including implementation of Data Domain Procedures, DQ Rules, Exceptions, and Reporting Procedures
- Assist Tech Lead on providing business requirements to tech team, and define Jira Epics/stories to maintain the book of work activities, including acceptance criteria and definition of done for stories
- Facilitate adoption of governance tools (Collibra, Ataccama) and ensure proper onboarding of systems and data domains
- Oversee data collection for lineage activities and coordinate lineage implementation in Collibra, ensuring accurate representation of data flows across systems
- Translate stewards' business rules into implementable data quality rules within Ataccama, partnering with SMEs to ensure accurate representation of business intent
- Enable end-to-end data quality capabilities for Data Stewards — including rule configuration, exception workflows, monitoring dashboards, and reporting — so stewards can independently triage and resolve data quality issues.
- Collaborate with the Data Quality squad on the product side to define requirements, validate rule logic, and ensure DQ tooling meets operational needs
Qualifications:
- Minimum of 6 years of related experience
- Bachelor's degree in Information Management, Data Analytics, Computer Science, or related field preferred or equivalent experience
Talents Needed for Success:
- 6+ years in data governance, data management, or related disciplines
- Proficient knowledge of data governance tools (Collibra, Ataccama)
- Hands-on experience with data quality platforms, specifically Ataccama, including rule configuration, profiling, exception management, and monitoring dashboards
- Ability to translate business-defined data quality requirements into technical rule implementations
- Experience enabling self-service data quality capabilities for business users and stewards
- Strong understanding of metadata management, data lineage, and data quality frameworks
- Expert-level ability to write complex SQL queries against Snowflake for data profiling, validation, exception analysis, cross-schema lineage verification, and performance-optimized views/stored procedures
- Proficient in building Python automation scripts, data pipelines, API integrations (Collibra, Ataccama, Snowflake connectors), and utility tools for governance operations
- Strong experience building executive governance dashboards (Power Bi), DQ scorecards, lineage coverage reports, and drill-through analytics connected to Snowflake;
- Proficient in managing data sets, performing transformations, and optimizing queries within Snowflake cloud data warehouse environment.
- Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills, with the ability to bridge business and technical teams
- Passion for data governance innovation and a curiosity-driven approach to improving data quality practices
