The Development Design Group is a team dedicated to designing tools that help improve the way we build products and features within Intuit. We are transforming how Intuit works by implementing AI tools to accelerate and improve our outputs, helping us maintain our competitive edge. To help us achieve this, we are seeking a systems-thinking, visionary Staff Product Designer. In this role, you'll be a leader in defining and building our next-generation design tools, leveraging AI to accelerate work and improve the lives of our developers, designers, and product managers. Responsibilities
- Lead the design vision of AI-powered tools and features that enhance the workflow for our internal designers, developers, and product managers.
- Create 0-to-1 experiences for AI-powered development and product tools.
- Rapidly prototype and experiment to test hypotheses and assumptions to help build our roadmap for AI tools.
- Create and improve components and tools for our internal UI libraries, with a focus on AI integration and optimization.
- Work across business and team boundaries to define and improve collaboration and processes that enable teams to deliver with speed and quality.
- Provide support and consultation to teams adopting our new tools and workflows through Slack, office hours, and frequent status updates.
- Create and maintain Figma libraries and other design tools, focusing on seamless synchronization between design, code, and AI-driven features.
- Provide feedback and support in design crits, Slack, and office hours.
- Surface opportunities on how we can improve our processes, deliverables, and customer experiences, with a focus on how AI and automation can drive efficiency.
- Facilitate strong cross-functional partnerships that bridge design and development and ensure cohesion across our internal toolsets.
- Partner with engineers and product managers to prioritize and negotiate technology trade-offs to deliver for customers.
Qualifications
- A bachelor's degree or equivalent industry experience.
- 7+ years of experience in interaction design, product design, service design, or a related field, with a portfolio showcasing experience in tool-building or B2B/enterprise applications.
- A love for technology and an insatiable curiosity for new tools to solve real problems.
- Sweats the details and prioritizes moments that matter.
- A highly collaborative team spirit, able to take in multiple points of view, synthesize decisions, and communicate outcomes across the organization.
- Demonstrates a thorough understanding of the creative processes and development lifecycle and executes deliverables with artistry, speed, creativity, and quality.
- Thinks critically about ways to experiment, stretch, and deviate from the system to learn and ultimately improve the system and its outcomes.
- Experience designing for AI or machine learning-powered products is a significant plus.
- Strong communication and facilitation skills with the ability to influence within the team and with other teams across the organization.
- Mastery of design tools such as Figma, agile development methodologies, and strong knowledge of accessibility, both in design and code. Experience with or an understanding of API design and tool integrations is a plus.

Bay Area: $179,500- $243,000
