Job Overview
Come join Intuit as a Staff Software Engineer in the Quickbooks Online Payroll team. You will join an innovative and passionate team of engineers using cutting edge technologies like React, Spring Boot, Kubernetes, AWS, Elastic Search, Kafka, and globally distributed services. We are looking for an engineer with a strong background in
back-end web technologies (Java, Spring, REST services, etc.) You will be working on features and services that enhance the product set and delight our Small and Mid-market Business customers
Responsibilities
- Lead an engineering team that builds and supports amazing customer-facing products that provide innovative solutions to challenging programming and design problems.
- Design, develop and maintain responsive web applications providing awesome user experiences in desktop and mobile devices.
- Hands-on development. Write highest quality code with utmost attention to scalability and performance.
- Able to influence, advocate and propose experience and workflow designs while collaborating with Product Managers and Experience Designers
- Collaborate closely with Product Managers, Designers, QE/QA and other Intuit teams and business units to define, prioritize, sequence and scope business and functional requirements and drive results forward for Intuit.
- Accurately scope effort, identify risks and clearly communicate trade-offs with team members and other stakeholders.
- Stay aware of industry trends and make technology choices and strategic decisions. Subject matter expert on web technologies.
- Mentor engineers on technology, process, people, and product skills.
- Ship high quality products and features with an end-to-end mindset from conception to delivery and production support, owning specifications, quality, release deployments and monitoring of production health
Qualifications
- 8+ years of experience designing and developing consumer-facing web applications as well as responsible for designing integration centric solutions with experience of modern API technologies
- BS/MS in computer science or equivalent work experience.
- Knowledge of current trends and best practices in modern SaaS technology landscape with experience around the full stack of software development.
- Expert level proficiency in Java, Web Technologies, architecture and Design.
- Developing and deploying applications on AWS.
- Expertise in Software Design and Architecture.
- Knowledge of streaming frameworks, even-driven architecture is a plus
- Ability to understand and execute on paradigm of “Discover-Implement-Ship-Measure-Learn”
- Experience/Understanding of responsive/adaptive solutions is a plus
- Scrum, Agile Process, Unit Testing & Test-Driven Development.
- Strong leadership, problem solving and communication skills.
- Great business acumen with a passion to solve for the customer.
- Experience with Global Apps, ReST or GraphQL API Modeling
