We are seeking a Research Data Analyst for Pediatric Infectious Diseases who will provide data analysis and related activities for various types of research projects and studies. The Research Data Analyst will contribute to ongoing development, maintenance, and use of a research data pipeline that collects and analyzes data.

The overarching goal of this project is to identify short course therapy for tuberculosis among children with tuberculosis. The study will include a phase III trial, costing study and both Pre-trial and Post-trial qualitative research. This role utilizes pediatric TB clinical expertise alongside knowledge of theory and statistics and applies these skills to the administration of the scientific protocol and assigned projects.

Specific Duties & Responsibilities

  • Collect data and generate reports and models.
  • Run models, analyze model results, and prepare reports on the analysis.
  • Conduct analyses in support of the assigned research project or study.
  • Conduct statistical analyses utilizing standard and statistical software packages.
  • Assist investigators in development and implementation of clinical research protocols.
  • Review clinical aspects of adverse event reports/data and provide guidance on clinical management of children diagnosed with TB.
  • Provide pediatric TB clinical expertise as member of the Clinical Management Committee.
  • Assist data analysis team with clinical understanding of adverse events in children diagnosed with drug-susceptible and drug-resistant TB and other data interpretation needs.
  • Design and prepare tables to illustrate analytic findings.
  • Manage or contribute to entry of data in the assigned database.
  • May engage in other research related responsibilities.
  • Other duties as assigned.

Special knowledge, skills, and abilities:

  • Experience in diagnosis and/or treatment of pediatric TB in low resource settings.
  • Minimum of three (3) year hands-on patient care experience in a hospital setting providing patient care.
  • Must have a strong background in research methods and participant recruitment.
  • Extensive experience with clinical research sciences.
  • Extensive experience with protocol and informed consent writing and data analysis.
  • Extensive experience with STATA and/or R, REDCap, Endnote, MS Word and MS Excel.
  • Qualitative research methods expertise.
  • Proficiency in manuscript writing.


Minimum Qualifications
  • Bachelor's Degree in related discipline.
  • Three years of related experience.


Preferred Qualifications
  • Preferred Master’s Degree or PhD candidate in public health, epidemiology, nursing, or related field preferred.
  • Strong background with analyzing qualitative data using coding and thematic content analysis preferred.
  • Proficiency in Atlas.ti computing programs preferred.

Starting Salary Range: $23.07 - $40.43 HRLY ($58,240 targeted; Commensurate w/exp.)
