Overview
Are you looking for an opportunity to build the networking platform that’s powering Azure and the most used LLM in the world? The Azure Networking team is responsible for designing and building the software defined network infrastructure that powers millions of servers around the globe for Azure, Bing and other Microsoft/partner cloud services. Azure Networking is at the forefront of Hyperscale Cloud Computing and runs one of the largest datacenter network infrastructures in the world. The physical network team manages all physical switches and routers inside Azure datacenters.
We are looking for a Principal Software Engineer to join our Physical Network Container Management team. This team owns the platform that’s leveraging Kubernetes and container technologies to accelerate the evolution of the physical networking infrastructure, which is crucial to Azure’s security, observability, reliability and cost-efficiency. The team owns the control plane and data plane services that enable containerized services used by the physical network infrastructure to be deployed with minimal service disruption and ensured safety. The platform operates on a massive scale with large clusters distributed geographically. This poses unique challenges for service reliability, scalability and data consistency. This platform is positioned to transform the security, observability and serviceability of Azure’s physical network with automation, agility and safety.
