The Walt Disney Company's Disney Entertainment (DE) group includes the company’s full portfolio of entertainment media and content business globally, including streaming (Disney+ and Hulu,).
DE-DTC Engagement is a highly visible team of professionals with backgrounds in consulting, investment banking, private equity, media & entertainment, and advanced analytics who serve as in-house advisers to the Disney Streaming Services’ executive leadership and Disney Ad Sales organization and own the engagement planning process. The team’s activities and accomplishments have contributed to the rapid growth and success of Disney Streaming.
Job Summary:
Disney Entertainment is seeking an Analyst that will play a key role in supporting the Direct-to-Consumer Business. You will play a key part in providing strategic support, financial analysis and forecasting support to drive our subscriber engagement & retention. You will work closely with key stakeholders in Business Operations, Content and DATA, and help them manage and monetize the next generation of Streaming subscribers. The right person for this role has phenomenal problem solving and analytical skills paired with outstanding strategic and conceptual thinking. The person is an excellent communicator, sets a high bar for themselves, and has a track record of success when partnering with key business operators. A successful candidate will be able to confidently navigate a rapidly evolving, dynamic environment and seek opportunities to drive efficient processes and challenge the status quo. The pace and cadence for change at DTC necessitates an ability to manage multiple projects, collaborate with multiple stakeholders, and roll up sleeves to support this important segment of the Disney business.
Responsibilities and Duties of the Role:
- Play an integral role in developing the next generation of forecast models
- Help build and create the reporting of engagement trends and insights that are shared across the company
- Stay up to date on SVOD industry trends amidst a rapidly changing landscape
Required Education, Experience/Skills/Training
WHAT TO BRING
- Bachelor’s degree with a major in Finance, Economics or similar discipline
- 0-2 years of finance or strategy experience and proven track record with a top tier tech or media & entertainment firm, management consultancy or investment bank / PE firm or Big 4
- Strong analytical capabilities and financial modeling skills (MS Excel), including the ability to build models from scratch
- Strong verbal and written communication skills (including PowerPoint) and ability to simplify complex matters for an executive audience
- Ability to work well in teams, both within the group and with other business units
- Ability to juggle multiple tasks and projects at the same time, while keeping management properly informed
- Familiarity with working in or with global, large organizations is a plus
