Job Summary
We are seeking a Research Technician with a strong background in mathematics and a genuine interest in behavioral and ecological research to support projects at the interface of animal behavior and ecology.
This position will contribute to research efforts that use applied mathematical approaches to develop general theory for understanding how individual- and group-level behaviors scale up to ecological dynamics. The successful candidate will work closely with lab members on theory-driven projects that integrate mathematical modeling with empirical questions in behavioral ecology.

What Your Key Responsibilities Will Be
- Developing and refining original theoretical models of animal decision-making and ecological and evolutionary consequences thereof
- Working collaboratively to analyze theoretical models and assist with relevant literature searches and manuscript preparation
- Assist with big data processing pipeline to extract animal behaviors from field videos
- Assist with mentoring other scientists in the lab, especially undergraduate research assistants
What We Can Offer
The hiring rate for this part-time position is $25.00 per hour.

What We Require
- Masters degree in mathematics
- Background college-level coursework and/or experience in ecology

- The ideal candidate is quantitatively strong, intellectually curious, and motivated to apply mathematical tools to real biological systems.
