The Chang-Moore Lab investigates the mechanism of tumorigenesis induced by human polyomavirus and human herpesviruses.
The successful candidate will be responsible for various tasks supporting the research laboratory: conducting molecular and cell biological experiments related to cancer virology, data collection, and record keeping. Laboratory maintenance duties will also be required: preparation of lab solutions, lab inventory keeping, equipment maintenance, ordering of lab supplies, and other support for lab personnel as needed.
A master’s degree is required for this role. The ideal candidate will have a master’s degree in a relevant field as well as a general understanding of biology, chemistry, molecular biology and lab procedures. More than two years of wet laboratory experience, in particular, mammalian cell culture, molecular cloning, gene expression analysis, is preferred.

Job Summary
Performs a variety of laboratory experiments and procedures. Prepares specimens. Oversees supply management. Operates and properly maintains equipment.
Candidate must be able to operate laboratory instruments, pipets and other equipment and to be familiar with computer software required to analyze scientific data.
Moderate physical effort required. Must be able to stand and walk approximately 50% of their time. May be required to move objects up to 25 pounds with or without assistance of equipment.
