This position is located at UPMC Children’s Hospital of Pittsburgh in Lawrenceville. PA Child Abuse History Clearance, PA State Police Criminal Record Check, and FBI Criminal Record Check will be required prior to the start of employment. Job Summary
Serves as subject matter expert and conducts independent scientific research projects from inception to presentation. Prepares and crafts various complex documentations of research results into manuscripts, proposals, grant applications, and presentations. Trains undergraduates, junior lab members, and research technicians. Manages laboratory policies and coordinates high-level work and project development in collaboration with other specialists.
•Acts as a subject matter expert and conducts independent scientific research projects from inception to presentation, including planning, organizing, conducting experiments, assessing protocol feasibility, processing, and analyzing data, and conference presentations.
•Prepares complex manuscripts, research proposals, articles, grant applications, work for publications, and presentations based on research results.
•Trains undergraduates, junior lab members, and/or research technicians.
•Recommends, drafts, and manages laboratory policies and procedures.
•Facilitates high-level work and project development in collaboration with other industry and academic specialists.
•Position will be in Pediatric Oncology Lab with other investigators, including graduate students, post-docs, and Lab manager.
•Research includes flow cytometry, tissue culture, PCR, protein analysis, next-gen sequencing approaches, and model organisms.
