The Impact You’ll Make in this Role
As a PD/PE (Product Development/Engineering) Engineer for Industrial Adhesives and Tapes Division IATD’s tape and adhesive products, you will have the opportunity to tap into your curiosity and collaborate with some of the most innovative and diverse people around the world. Here, you will make an impact by:
Leading or supporting global and regional New Product Introduction (NPI) efforts in scaling up and commercializing new tapes and adhesives mainly in consumer electronics industry.
Leading or supporting Change Management Process (CMP) project to drive supply, cost, quality and safety improvement by working with cross-functional team.
Managing documentation of change management for key projects and tasks, including Product and Process Understanding (PPU), Product and Process Experiments (PPE), participating in quality investigations, CAPAs, and any other operational changes or tasks that need to be executed.
Determining cost savings and supply chain improvement opportunities and helps prioritize within the product sub teams.
Supporting the quality team in reducing customer complaints, improving the cost of poor quality, and help investigate and mitigate unexpected issues as they arise.
Other duties as assigned.
Your Skills and Expertise
To set you up for success in this role from day one, 3M requires (at a minimum) the following qualifications:
Bachelor's degree or higher in Chemical Engineering, Chemistry, Polymer Science, Polymer Engineering, Materials Science, Mechanical Engineering (completed and verified prior to start) from an accredited institution
Three (3) years of laboratory experience in an academic, private, public, government or military environment
Additional qualifications that could help you succeed even further in this role include:
Master's or PhD Degree in Chemical Engineering, Chemistry, Polymer Science, Polymer Engineering, Materials Science, Mechanical Engineering from an accredited institution
Experience in one or more of the following: adhesives and PSAs, small molecule or polymers organic synthesis, methodology development or materials synthesis, mechanical testing of materials, scale up processes
Experience working with diverse teams including external partners
Minimum three (3) years of experience utilizing statistical tools in problem solving
Utilization of the Six Sigma methodology
Minimum of three (3) years on New Product Development and/or Commercialization Teams
Travel: May include up to 10% domestic/international
