Position Name: Lead Analyst - HR Reporting Technology
We are seeking an experienced HR Reporting Technology Analyst with advanced expertise in HR processes, Power BI, and Workday reports. In this role, you will be tasked with translating report requirements into deliverables that inform HR processes and drive data-informed actions. Your experience in HR processes, particularly in compensation, and the creation of reporting solutions related to those processes will make you an integral part of our HR Technology and Analytics team.
Key Responsibilities
Data Reporting & Delivery (Core)
- Develop and Maintain Reporting Solutions: Design, build, test, and deploy operational and strategic HR reports, dashboards, and scorecards using Workday Report Writer, Power BI and other system-specific reporting tools (i.e. Varicent for SIP Planning).
- Data Visualization: Translate complex HR data (e.g., headcount, turnover, compensation, recruiting metrics) into clear, compelling, and actionable visualizations and insights using Power BI.
- Ad-Hoc Reporting: Fulfill time-sensitive ad-hoc report requests utilizing HR data sources and our data warehouse.
- Workday Report Management: Manage the lifecycle of Workday reports, including creating custom reports, maintaining calculated fields, and ensuring proper security configuration.
Technical Expertise & Data Integrity
- System Integration: Understand the Workday HCM and other HR system data models to effectively source and structure data for reporting. Integrating data from multiple data sources will be required.
- Data Governance and Quality: Ensure data accuracy, consistency, and integrity across all reporting platforms and source systems.
- Technical Documentation: Maintain comprehensive documentation for reporting solutions, including data definitions, report logic, data lineage, security configurations, and user guides.
- Query and Scripting Proficiency: Utilize SQL and other relevant querying languages to extract, transform, and load (ETL) data from various sources into the reporting environment, as needed.
Stakeholder Collaboration & Consultation
- Requirements Gathering: Consult with HR Business Partners, HR Leadership, Finance, and other business stakeholders to understand their analytical needs and translate them into technical report specifications.
- Training and Support: Provide training and ongoing support to end-users on how to effectively access, navigate, and interpret reports and dashboards in Workday and Power BI.
- Process Improvement: Proactively identify opportunities to improve reporting efficiency, automate manual data processes, and enhance the overall user experience.
Compliance & Security
- Data Confidentiality: Ensure strict adherence to global and local data privacy regulations (e.g., GDPR, CCPA) and company policies when handling sensitive employee data.
- Access Control: Manage and audit user access to reports and data within Power BI and Workday, ensuring compliance with defined security matrices and need-to-know principles.
Required Experience and Skills
- Bachelor’s degree in information systems, Computer Science, or a related field — or equivalent experience.
- Minimum of 8+ years of experience, including 5+ years in data analysis, data transformation, and report development using contemporary BI tools.
- Minimum of 5 years of work experience in a global corporation within a Human Resources or Finance function, with strong knowledge of HR compensation practices.
- Strong experience with advanced Power BI development and advanced SQL skills.
- Strong knowledge of Workday or any Human Capital Management (HCM) systems.
- Strong expertise in advanced Workday report development, including Prism Analytics and Discovery Boards.
- Experience in integrating data from various sources into reporting solutions.
Additional skills which would help you to succeed in this role have
- Strong communication skills to effectively engage with end users, ensuring clarity and alignment.
- Experience in interpreting requirements and designing reports while maintaining a high level of detail.
- Knowledge and experience with data warehousing solutions such as Snowflake or similar platforms.
