Product Development Engineer (R&D Center)

As a Product Development Engineer, you will have the opportunity to tap into your curiosity and collaborate with some of the most innovative and diverse people around the world. Here, you will make an impact by:

• Working in Consumer Business Group to develop new products and technology platforms for Fabric Protector portfolio
• Interacting with application engineers, business teams, and customers to identify unmet needs and transform them into new product opportunities
• Working with cross-functional team on driving new product commercialization by verifying product performance, validating manufacturing process, and setting material specification
• Apply disciplined project practices to prioritize, execute, and document your work
• Communicating with Business team and Global laboratory and developing strong working partnerships/networks for key technical input and related activities
• Initiating and contributing to the development of Intellectual Property and IP strategies

Your Skills and Expertise

To set you up for success in this role from day one, 3M is looking for candidates who have the following qualifications:

• Master or advanced degree in organic chemistry, polymer science/chemistry, materials science/chemistry or related engineering/science fields, with a minimum of 3 years of new product development experience
• Demonstrated ability to design experiments, statistically analyze test results, make data-driven decisions, and deliver project results aiming at on-time in-full (OTIF)
• Experience in textile finishing, fabric coatings, polymer formulations, or surface protection technologies is a plus
• Strong collaborative skills with proven experience in leading cross-functional projects
• Excellent technical presentation and communication skills with fluent English in written and spoken
