The Impact You’ll Make in this Role

As a Business Supply Chain Senior Engineer, you will have the opportunity to tap into your curiosity and collaborate with some of the most innovative people around the world. This role will support the fast growing and highly profitable Liquid Adhesive Business in IATD. The Business is scaling globally w/ significant activity in manufacturing footprint expansion, localization, New Product Introduction, Auto E readiness, and overall value stream optimization. Here, you will make an impact by:

  • Leading significant NPI qualification manufacturing readiness plans for global products focused on cost, capability, capacity, and resilient supply chains.

  • Identifying and influencing NPI teams on the best possible technology to leverage for new product platforms.

  • Designs, qualifies and executes global source of supply optimization including localization and value stream consolidation.

  • Supporting significant yield improvements in worldwide factories.

  • Collaborating across all business functions to drive core manufacturing improvement across Industrial Adhesive and Tapes manufacturing globally.

  • Supporting capacity expansion, product qualifications on new assets.

  • Supporting transition to bulk format in support of customer automation (enabled by Class 5 Mix Monitor).

  • Supporting RM qualification for supply resiliency and cost out.

  • Supporting Auto E readiness support (e.g. capability analysis and process improvements).

Your Skills and Expertise

To set you up for success in this role from day one, 3M requires (at a minimum) the following qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in mechanical, chemical or industrial engineering (completed and verified prior to start).

  • Five (5) years of manufacturing experience in a private, public, government or military environment.

  • One (1) year of experience with liquid adhesive manufacturing including compounding, mixing, and filling operations.

Additional qualifications that could help you succeed even further in this role include:

  • Master's degree in chemical or mechanical engineering from an accredited institution.

  • Knowledge of different adhesive mixing technologies and most current manufacturing technologies available.

  • Experience with complex control systems and automation.

  • Supply chain design experience.

  • A track record of innovation and solving complex technical challenges.

  • Demonstrated track record of excellence in project management.

  • Strong record of collaboration and team building across functions globally.

  • Ability to leverage 3M’s network of functional expertise.

Work location

  • This role has on-site working model, with the employee working at least 4 days a week in the office at 3M Center, located in Maplewood, MN. Flexible work schedule to interact with global teams across time zones.

Travel: May include up to 20-25% domestic and/or international
