Job Description:
Responsibilities:
- Manage patent docketing activities, including tracking deadlines, filings, and office action responses, to support maintenance of 3M’s patent rights.
- Review and analyze incoming patent-related communications to determine required actions and appropriate responses.
- Assist in preparing and finalizing Information Disclosure Statements. Responsibilities include reviewing source documents, cross‑referencing and updating records, adding related art, sourcing reference copies, formatting and embedding documents, reviewing citation matrices, and generating or editing cover letters.
- Identify and resolve issues or discrepancies by interpreting data, using internal and external resources, and researching relevant government rules and guidelines.
- Establish and maintain effective relationships with internal clients to support information, data management, and search needs. May participate in cross-functional or cross-divisional teams, and special projects.
- Document and maintain all instructions received from stakeholders, ensuring accurate recordkeeping and traceability.
- Collaborates with IP liaisons and patent attorneys and contributes to the overall IP management process.
