As a Lab Research Engineer, you will have the opportunity to tap into your curiosity and collaborate with some of the most innovative and diverse people around the world. Here, you will make an impact by:

• Leads testing across portfolios

• Implements new technologies to increase accuracy and speed of prototypes. Testing setup

• Supports new product development through prototyping, testing as well as product performance, quality consistency, and smooth project execution

Your Skills and Expertise

To set you up for success in this role from day one, 3M requires (at a minimum) the following qualifications:

• Bachelor’s degree or higher (completed and verified prior to start) from an accredited institution.

• Three (3) years of Testing and Prototyping experience in a variety of materials including plastics, 3D Printing, woods, and metals in a consumer facing business

• Experience in decorative prototyping including air brushing, electroplating, and custom decal creation and application

Additional qualifications that could help you succeed even further in this role include:

• Bachelors degree in Physics from an accredited institution

• Three (3) years of [Experience testing PSG Sanding Sponge, Mesh Abrasives, and Sanding Tools including Schiefer Abrasion testing in a private, public, government or military environment

• Experience 3d printing, Air brush painting, electroplating, Prototyping in plastics woods and metals. Abrasives testing, Drywall repair testing, test stand design, test fixture design, Test method development and refinement

• Three (3) years of 3D printer experience including maintenance

• Three (3) years of Schiefer Abrasion Testing experience, ability to operate and optimize

Work location: Maplewood, MN

Travel: May include up to 5% domestic

Relocation Assistance: May be authorized
