Job Description
The Senior Master Data Analyst will be responsible for Master Data Governance activities in the Material Master Data (MMD) Domain, as part of the Central MMD Team in Operations and Supply Chain. The team is responsible for the creation, update, validation, and maintenance of all Material Master Records in our global SAP and JDA systems. The Master Data Analyst provides governance, performance management and project services. The Analyst will add value by understanding how the MD is used in one or more business processes and ensure that the Master Data is accurate, complete and transaction ready. This role requires excellent analytical abilities, the ability to understand complex solutions and processes, and a strong focus on driving data quality improvements. The Analyst liaises with Functional Data Owners and Stewards across AbbVie globally.
Responsibilities:
- Provides Data Governance services in support of important Material Master Data (MMD) processes such as metadata management, mass updates, policy and standards creation, and the addition of new fields or the update of the definition of existing fields.
- Manages all aspects of Master Data Governance for relevant supply chain master data to drive standardization of supply chain processes in SAP.
- Conducts Master Data Quality Audits and implement corrective/preventative actions in response. Delivers trainings, presentations, workshops, and group communications. Identifies opportunities for process improvement and implements solutions.
- Supports standardized and structured data design, naming, consistent data definitions and usage through assigned projects and operational responsibilities.
- Monitors and audits master data and remediates issues to maintain defined levels of quality.
- Provides operational support and enterprise guidance of consistent master data workflow for Create, Read, Update and Delete process.
- Supports centralized master data operations for creation and maintenance of enterprise master data elements, meeting global business requirements.
- Enforces applicable policies, processes and procedures and introduction of new compliance documents.
- Participates and leads cross-functional teams to understand master data requirements and identify opportunities to improve the value proposition of the Central Material Master Data Team.
- Support organizational change management across functional and geographical areas, ensuring successful implementation of master data and related practices.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s Degree required, in preferred fields such as Business Administration, Supply Chain, or IT.
- 5+ years of operational experience with specific knowledge of a given Master Data domain, data governance, and related business processes. At least 3 years of experience in Master Data management experience in a global Supply Chain environment.
- Experience with data integration in large-scale enterprise-wide applications (e.g., ERP, Advanced Planning, Product Lifecycle Management, CRM, QMS, Excel, etc.).
- Strong knowledge of SAP and SAP MDG/S4 HANA systems is a plus.
- Computer literacy and proficiency in SQL and data management principles, as well as Microsoft Office applications (Word, Outlook, Excel, PPT).
- Excellent phone and interpersonal skills, analytical skills, negotiation skills, oral and written communication skills.
- Strong understanding of the interaction of fields across master data domains in SAP (and knowledge of impact of specific Master Data on transactional data in SAP and other partner systems at AbbVie).
- Six Sigma Certification preferred.

The compensation range described below is the range of possible base pay compensation that the Company believes in good faith it will pay for this role at the time of this posting based on the job grade for this position. Individual compensation paid within this range will depend on many factors including geographic location, and we may ultimately pay more or less than the posted range. This range may be modified in the future.
