Job Description
This position will be responsible for evaluating alternatives to satisfy business objectives, estimate and plan projects. The candidate will be involved in solving complex problems that arise during the planning and execution of different IT programs and projects as well as managing SAP support activities.
Responsibilities
- Understanding business challenges faced in Global Trade & Compliance,
- Designing SAP GTS centric solutions that adhere to software architecture and quality standards followed at Abbvie
- Partnering with Service Providers to implement the solution
- Provides in-depth technical expertise & direction in the development and release of such solutions
- Reviewing all the artefacts delivered by Service Providers throughout System Life Cycle
- Following AbbVie SLC process to ensure compliance to deliver quality and validated systems.
- Demonstrating continuous improvement in the delivery of SAP GTS solutions.
- Staying on top of technological trends, agile project management and perform the required technical research and due diligence when necessary to recommend the use of new technology capabilities.
- Serve as a technical expert in Global Trade & Compliance to design, develop, test, and implement SAP GTS E4H-centric solutions that address business challenges.
- Lead technological proposals, generating innovative solutions to complex problems faced in Global Trade and compliance.
- Evaluate technological advances in SAP GTS application and develop/implement response strategies accordingly.
- Work with Global Trade & Compliance business to understand processes, drivers, and strategies, identifying areas for process improvement in SAP GTS.
- Lead significant improvement programs, establishing requirements for major changes in business functions, processes, and technology.
- Proactively seek out opportunities for applying new or existing technology.
- Demonstrate mastery in software design and development, data integration, cloud environments, and more.
- Review, validate, enhance, design, conduct performance monitoring and capacity planning
- Mentor and guide team members, facilitating effective performance and communication.
- Ensure adherence to standards regarding code of conduct, safety, GxP compliance, data security, and the software development lifecycle.
- Keep executive leadership, peers, and staff informed through effective communication
Qualifications
- Bachelor's Degree with 8 years experience; Master's Degree with 7 years experience; PhD with 3 years experience. Experience in application program development.
- Solution design experience in following areas of SAP GTS
- Legal Control and Compliance
- Customs Management for Import and Export transactions
- Special Customs Procedures
- Preference Management
- Understanding of ABAP Programming
- Write functional specifications for custom programs.
- Critical Thinking.
- SAP S/4HANA Logistics and Supply Chain experience will be an added advantage.
- Work experience in the pharmaceutical industry and academic background of International Trade is preferred.

Individual compensation paid within this range will depend on many factors including geographic location, and we may ultimately pay more or less than the posted range.
