The Opportunity

Adobe Document Cloud AI & Innovation team is looking for a Machine Learning Engineer. We are the team behind Adobe Liquid Mode which was featured on TIME's Best Invention of 2023 and Acrobat AI Assistant which was featured on TIME's Best Invention of 2024! We are looking for someone who will apply AI and machine learning techniques to help Adobe deliver state of the art document experiences to its customers. Partnering with the business units, the candidate will be building various products that address challenging business problems related to document viewing, editing, creation, etc.

By using machine learning techniques, the candidate will work on the research and development of exciting projects such as LLM powered capabilities for document workflows such as consumption, creation and editing.

Ideal candidates will have a strong academic background as well as technical skills in machine learning and software development. Familiarity with working with large-scale datasets would be a plus. In this role your work will have the potential to have a positive impact on the lives of millions of people across the world!

What You’ll Do

  • Develop predictive models (CV and/or NLP) trained on large-scale datasets to address various business problems with sophisticated machine learning techniques.

  • Develop and implement scalable and efficient ML models that can work with large-scale data in production systems running on mobile devices with limited memory and compute.

  • Collaborate with product management and engineering groups to develop new products and features.

What You Need to Succeed

  • Deep understanding of machine learning, deep learning, or data mining concepts, and a track record of solving problems with these methods.

  • Experience in NLP and working with LLMs. Experience with ML techniques for computer vision is a plus.

  • Proficient in one or more programming languages such as Python, Java, Objective C or C++.

  • Familiar with one or more machine learning or statistical modeling tools such as PyTorch or TensorFlow.

  • Strong analytical and quantitative problem-solving ability.

  • Excellent communication, relationship skills and a strong team player.

  • PhD or Master’s degree in Computer Science, Statistics, Electrical Engineering, Applied Math, Operations Research, Econometrics or equivalent experience required with 3+ years of experience (for PhD) or with 8+ years of experience (for Master’s).

Our compensation reflects the cost of labor across several U.S. geographic markets, and we pay differently based on those defined markets. The U.S. pay range for this position is $162,000 -- $301,200 annually. Pay within this range varies by work location and may also depend on job-related knowledge, skills, and experience. Your recruiter can share more about the specific salary range for the job location during the hiring process.

At Adobe, for sales roles starting salaries are expressed as total target compensation (TTC = base + commission), and short-term incentives are in the form of sales commission plans. Non-sales roles starting salaries are expressed as base salary and short-term incentives are in the form of the Annual Incentive Plan (AIP).

In addition, certain roles may be eligible for long-term incentives in the form of a new hire equity award.
