Job Description – AWS Image Automation Engineer

We are seeking an experienced AWS Image Automation Engineer to design, develop, and maintain automated processes for creating and managing Windows and MacOS images on AWS. The ideal candidate will have expertise in configuration management, infrastructure-as-code (IaC), and automation tools such as Ansible, Packer, Terraform, AWS Image Builder, VMware Fusion, and Golang, Python, Bash scripting. You will collaborate with DevOps, Security, and Infrastructure teams to ensure efficient and secure image provisioning across cloud environments.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Design, build, and automate the creation of Windows, Linux and MacOS AMIs using Packer, Ansible, and Terraform.
  • Develop infrastructure-as-code (IaC) solutions to manage image lifecycle and deployments on AWS.
  • Proficiency in Ansible for configuration management and automation.
  • Optimize image build pipelines for performance, security, and compliance.
  • Implement security best practices across infrastructure and applications.
  • Implement CI/CD pipelines to test and validate image builds before deployment.
  • Troubleshoot and resolve issues related to image builds and deployments.
  • Maintain and improve documentation for image creation processes and automation workflows.

Required Skills and Experience:

  • 5+ years of experience in automating infrastructure in AWS with tools like Ansible, Packer and Terraform
  • 1+ years of experience using VMware Fusion on Mac for virtualization.
  • 5+ years of Strong administration experience with Windows, MacOS and Linux systems.
  • 5+ years of Scripting and automation skills using Golang, Python, Bash and PowerShell.
  • Experience troubleshooting OS and cloud infrastructure issues.
  • Experience working with Docker and container orchestration tools
  • Experience with monitoring and logging tools (Prometheus, Grafana, ELK stack).
  • Strong understanding of version control systems like Git.
  • Hands-on experience with CI/CD pipelines (Jenkins, github actions)
