The opportunity

The Ecosystem and Collaboration team at Adobe is changing the future of how creative work gets done by helping millions of users manage and collaborate on their work, discover new creative workflows, and get the most out of all of their apps and services.


We are looking for a Design Manager who has a passion for well-crafted digital experiences, pixel-perfect UI designs, and crafting solutions that scale to the millions of users who rely on Adobe products every single day to build the future.


This person will manage a team of UI-focused designers who will operate in a studio/agency-model, being able to fluidly move from project to project - partnering with other UX product designers - to drive visual and UI design excellence in any and all phases of the work, from new product experience conceptualization, product refinement, and design specification execution.


What you’ll do

  • Lead a team of designers to establish the future vision for products within the Ecosystem and Collaboration team

  • Partner with designers and managers to explore new visual or interaction patterns for our products

  • Help establish design standards and principles for how we apply—and extend—our Spectrum design language across our ecosystem

  • Be a key partner to Design Leadership in conceptualizing the future of our product surfaces

  • Develop design rubrics to define excellence across Ecosystem and Collaboration products

  • Mentor and coach designers on the team to continue to grow their careers as outstanding UI design experts


What you need to succeed

  • High-level of proficiency with Figma and Adobe creative tools

  • Experience with design systems and solving complex design challenges with elegant, intuitive solutions

  • Skilled at mentoring designers and building an inclusive, empowering environment

  • Effective collaborator with strong influence and communication skills

  • Excellent interpersonal, spoken, and written communication

  • Highly organized and self-starter/ownership mentality

  • Creative and analytical skills to facilitate design workshop and communicate insights and influence partners and leadership

Preferred Accessibility Design Skills:

  • Experience crafting accessible and inclusive interfaces for people with disabilities.

  • Understanding of applying WCAG conformance criteria in design, specifically testing comps, wireframes, and prototypes for accessibility standards.

  • Accessibility certifications CPACC, WAS, CPWA, or ADS from the IAAP preferred.

Our compensation reflects the cost of labor across several U.S. geographic markets, and we pay differently based on those defined markets. The U.S. pay range for this position is $133,100 -- $256,500 annually. Pay within this range varies by work location and may also depend on job-related knowledge, skills, and experience. Your recruiter can share more about the specific salary range for the job location during the hiring process.

At Adobe, for sales roles starting salaries are expressed as total target compensation (TTC = base + commission), and short-term incentives are in the form of sales commission plans. Non-sales roles starting salaries are expressed as base salary and short-term incentives are in the form of the Annual Incentive Plan (AIP).

In addition, certain roles may be eligible for long-term incentives in the form of a new hire equity award.
