Senior Software Developer - Drover
Job Description:
The Role
The Drover team collaborates with teams at Adobe by providing application support for Premiere, After Effects, Photoshop and other well known products. This support includes various user interface technologies, error reporting, threading primitives and many more. Our creative tools are used by Hollywood, major news outlets, social media influencers (YouTube / Instagram), and creatives all over the world.
What you'll do
As a senior software engineer, you'll be responsible for crafting and improving our technology stack to provide responsive and efficient frameworks for our creative suite of applications. You will work closely with a senior team of engineers, designers and product experts who live and breathe all things digital audio and video. Having a drive for understanding and creating modern software solutions with a quality first approach is key for this role. Specific areas of ownership and opportunity include:
- Update and improve Drover user interface technology stack
- Innovate and implement solutions that will enable host applications deliver new features quicker and more efficiently
- Implement UI automation and performance monitoring solutions
- Responsible for solving problems that arise and to continually improve and enhance the system and product quality
- Work hand-in-hand with senior engineers, experience designers and product experts to build the right set of features for our customers
What you need to succeed
- Eagerness for identifying root causes for problems and understanding complex systems
- Interest in developing solutions to ensure we deliver nothing but the best user experiences and quality
- A minimum of 10 years of experience as a software engineer
- Experience with UI technologies
- Understanding the concepts of multithreading, synchronization and memory management
- Deep knowledge of C++
- Obj-C, JS/TS, Python experience is a plus
- Experience developing applications for Mac and/or Windows, is a plus
- Exposure to and experience with video editing software is a plus
- Desire to learn
- Comfortable asking questions and seeking advice, working collaboratively
At Adobe, for sales roles starting salaries are expressed as total target compensation (TTC = base + commission), and short-term incentives are in the form of sales commission plans. Non-sales roles starting salaries are expressed as base salary and short-term incentives are in the form of the Annual Incentive Plan (AIP).
In addition, certain roles may be eligible for long-term incentives in the form of a new hire equity award.
