People Manager

The Opportunity

As a member of the Engineering management team, you will lead and mentor Software Engineers, and build highly effective Engineering teams within an Agile environment. Our primary goal will be to work together to turn concepts into reality and ensure consistent delivery of high-quality, scalable, innovative software.

As an Engineering Manager, you will work closely with Product Managers and other technical leaders to stay ahead of the curve with our products and architecture. Primarily responsible for Engineering craftsmanship and standard methodologies to drive improvements, and most importantly mentor engineers. Come join our team!

What you'll Do

  • Lead Agile processes across multiple teams that consistently deliver a quality product to customers
  • Rally your team to make and keep commitments to customers, the business, and themselves
  • Team up with your Product Owners and UX Designers in planning and preparing your teams’ backlog
  • Mentor, coach, and assist team members to be productive and efficient contributors to your team
  • Meet to ensure their path for success is clear, and we’re instilling and exhibiting the right behaviors to ensure consistent, high-quality delivery.
  • Ensure the quality craftsmanship of your teams’. We’re always ensuring our code not only works as advertised but will continue to work when thousands upon thousands of people are using it at the same time.
  • Build proposals for the creation and modification of our processes and technology roadmaps in your designated areas.
  • Participate in interviews to find the next outstanding engineer or leader at Adobe, convincing them that Adobe has the best software jobs in the world.

What you need to succeed

  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering (or equivalent experience)
  • 7+ years in engineering with 2+ years of recent experience leading software engineering teams, preferably with knowledge of technologies/languages in the Adobe/Workfront stack (NodeJS, React, AWS, Kubernetes, GitLab, etc.).
  • Demonstrate a knowledge of software engineering practices, craftsmanship, metrics, quality and testing procedures, process creation, and enablement.
  • Significant experience optimizing software processes to ensure teams are always running efficiently and constantly seeking to improve.
  • Strong communication about the technical practices in software engineering in a way that makes sense and resonates with customers and other departments in the business.

Our compensation reflects the cost of labor across several U.S. geographic markets, and we pay differently based on those defined markets. The U.S. pay range for this position is $132,700 -- $267,600 annually. Pay within this range varies by work location and may also depend on job-related knowledge, skills, and experience. Your recruiter can share more about the specific salary range for the job location during the hiring process.

At Adobe, for sales roles starting salaries are expressed as total target compensation (TTC = base + commission), and short-term incentives are in the form of sales commission plans. Non-sales roles starting salaries are expressed as base salary and short-term incentives are in the form of the Annual Incentive Plan (AIP).

In addition, certain roles may be eligible for long-term incentives in the form of a new hire equity award.
