The Opportunity

Become an early member of a talented team building a groundbreaking AI-first, Agentic Experience Delivery application. If you’re passionate about generative AI and ponder questions about how an AI can authoritatively speak on behalf of a brand—leveraging its data and content—as well as facilitate acting on behalf of an end user, we should chat! Distributed computing is being recast with language interfaces, and we’re working on the cutting edge of these developments. Adobe has long been a leader in personalizing experiences, and with conversation becoming the next click, we’re poised to continue that mission in this next chapter of the software industry’s evolution.

What You'll Do

  • Develop AI-centric backend and mid-tier services in a distributed services environment.
  • Integrate and leverage systems and models from our machine learning and data science teams.
  • Work on high-performance, low-latency, fault-tolerant software.
  • Solve technical challenges around how conversational systems retrieve data from storage using RAG, leveraging concepts around search relevance, personalization and optimization to support conversational product and service recommendations
  • Code in multiple languages in a zero-to-one product cycle, i.e., develop the initial version of the software.
  • Work closely with initial customers, product management, and design.
  • Standard software development responsibilities across the full lifecycle of software development, extending through quality assurance, deployment, and DevOps.

What You Need to Succeed

  • BS or MS in Computer Science or equivalent.
  • 5+ years of professional software development experience.
  • At least 1 year of direct experience in search relevance, building search indexes, optimization and recommender systems with hands-on experience with tools such as Elasticsearch.
  • Proven ability to address search-related technical challenges in generative AI systems, particularly how data retrieval from storage can be optimized for specific conversational AI use cases.
  • Familiarity with machine learning and AI systems, especially in the context of data flow and pathways for model improvement, is a valuable asset.
  • Strong grasp of computer science fundamentals—especially algorithms and data structures.
  • Extensive experience working in a distributed systems SaaS environment.
  • Proficiency in Java, Scala, or Python.
  • Thrive in a fast-paced, dynamic environment as a self-starter with a “can do” attitude.
  • Desire to learn new technologies and work on the leading edge.
  • Ability to make savvy tradeoffs between expediting work and avoiding undue technical debt.
