Adobe Edinburgh are looking for engineers to join our team building Adobe's Administration Platform which enables Adobe's business to grow rapidly.
As part of the Cloud Technology unit, our mission is to invent the technologies that allow our product leaders’ dreams to come true. We work to solve problems at a scale few other companies face.
We build high availability and low maintenance services that play a critical role for Adobe customers, whether they be individuals or multinational enterprises.
When our customers manage their Creative Cloud subscription, our APIs are behind the scenes.
When multinational advertising agencies and social networking companies need to map thousands of users from their IT system to Adobe’s identity system, they use the APIs created in Edinburgh. When customers receive an email welcoming them to their Adobe account, that’s constructed and sent by our systems.
Sounds simple, but our team co-ordinates upwards of 40 other systems and services to enable our customers tell their stories and create new experiences.
Our Adobe Edinburgh engineering centre also build and run a real-time messaging platform for distributed intersystem communication that is at the heart of Adobe's $17 billion annual revenues.
There are opportunities in Edinburgh for you to build the services and solutions that help deliver Adobe’s vision of the future. You will have the chance to work with a wide variety of engineering teams from across the company.
What you’ll do
- You will work closely with engineering teams to ensure services return accurate information reliably and quickly
- You will create tooling and automation to reduce operational burdens
- You will write, review and maintain code primarily in Java
- You will encourage the professional and technical growth of those around you

What you'll need to succeed
- Great communication and collaboration skills
- Excellent debugging and diagnosis skills across technologies and distributed systems
- Great Java Skills
- Previous experience of developing on frameworks such as Spring, Play & Akka would be useful
- Ability to debug and tune JVM workloads
- Proficient working with Linux systems
- Have experience in designing and developing scalable and distributed RESTful APIs
- Have experience with CI/CD
- Experience with New Relic, Datadog and Splunk is a bonus
- Experience using some of Terraform, Ansible, Docker, Kubernetes, Kafka,
Cassandra, ZooKeeper, etcd, MySQL, Redis and Elastic Search - Experience with cloud service providers, especially AWS & Azure
- Be able to clearly explain complex issues
- Be curious and have a keen interest in continual learning & improvement
- Previous job experience as an engineer within an internet scale business is a
bonus
