The Opportunity

We are seeking a Software Development Engineer to join our Japan R&D DX (Digital Experience) team, focusing on Adobe DX software development tailored for Japanese market demands, especially for the enhancement to support Japanese and other non-English languages of Generative AI features supports. This role is critical to Adobe’s mission of delivering globally inclusive, intelligent digital experiences and Adobe Japan success.

What You’ll Do

  • Develop and enhance core software components for Adobe Experience Cloud and other Adobe products to resolve the critical requests coming from Japanese market.
  • Find ways to ensure Adobe's continually released generative AI features work equally well in English across multiple languages, primarily Japanese, and establish standard methods for doing so.
  • In order to properly deliver a product in to Japanese market, you not only develop it but also sometimes carry out various verifications and tests.
  • Design, develop and optimize AI-powered localization frameworks and services for internal and external use.
  • Enhance machine translation systems and develop GenAI-powered solutions for product, documentation, and marketing localization.
  • Build strong collaborative relationships with Adobe Japan stakeholders, gather market information, and appropriately communicate it to the product team to support the Japan business from a product perspective.
  • Work closely with external translators to understand the translation process and propose and deliver services that efficiently remove obstacles and improve thetranslation quality output.

What you'll have

  • Strong programming skills in JavaScript, Python similar languages
  • Hands-on experience applying LLMs in real-world workflows, including prompt engineering, Retrieval-Augmented Generation (RAG), and leveraging agentic AI frameworks (e.g., LangGraph) to build multi-step reasoning and tool-orchestration pipelines.
  • Experience designing and implementing evaluation strategies for generative outputs, including relevance and safety checks, bias detection, and automated quality evaluation frameworks
  • Excellent communication skills in English and Japanese
  • Knowledge or interest in I18N and L10N processes and services
  • Ability to collaborate across teams and cultures to deliver multilingual solutions
  • Solid understanding of software engineering principles, including object-oriented design, data structures, and algorithms
  • Experience working with Japanese language processing or NLP
  • BS or MS in Computer Science or related field, or equivalent experience
  • Familiarity with agile development and CI/CD pipelines
  • Experience with both SQL and NoSQL databases
