The Opportunity
We are seeking a Sr Data Engineer to join our dedicated software design team. You will directly report to the Technical Manager and contribute to all aspects of software coding and design. Collaboration with Business Analysts will be integral, as you will need to comprehend design specifications and convert requirements into a database, ETL, or reporting solution. This outstanding opportunity allows you to be a part of a hardworking team and contribute to projects with a global impact.
What You’ll Do
- Lead the integration of heterogeneous data sources and contribute across the design, development, testing, deployment, and operations of Data Warehousing (DW) & Business Intelligence (BI) solutions.
- Design and maintain user documentation, solution architecture, and data flow diagrams.
- Deliver scalable, high-performance solutions leveraging MSBI and the Azure Cloud platform.
- Implement and enforce best practices for source code versioning, data quality, and performance optimization.
- Collaborate with business stakeholders, application developers, data scientists, and technical staff in an agile environment to deliver data-driven solutions.
- Partner with data science teams to enable and operationalize Machine Learning (ML) models into enterprise workflows.
- Drive continuous improvements in data pipelines, automation, and modern data platform adoption (Big Data, GenAI, and advanced analytics).
What You Need to Succeed
- Bachelor’s degree in computer science, Engineering, or a related field.
- 7+ years of relevant experience in Data Engineering with expertise in SQL Server and the Azure Cloud Platform (Azure SQL, ADF, Databricks).
- Proven experience with T-SQL, stored procedures, and database performance tuning.
- Strong hands-on experience with Databricks, Big Data platforms, and GenAI technologies.
- Experience in supporting and deploying ML models (e.g., model integration, feature engineering, pipelines, monitoring).
- Proficiency in scripting/programming languages such as Python and DAX
- Strong problem-solving skills, with the ability to learn quickly and adapt to a fast-paced, evolving technology environment.
- Demonstrated ability to mentor junior engineers and contribute to architectural decision-making.
