To help us achieve our vision, Prime UX is seeking a talented and motivated UX Writer to join our highly collaborative and growing team. This role will work with our Sr. UX Writer to influence every aspect of the product development lifecycle, from discovery and refinement to catching a typo right before a launch. Specifically, the UX Writer’s charter will encompass the Acquisition, Engagement, and Retention experiences of the Prime membership journey. In doing so, they partner with UX designers and researchers, product managers, marketers, the brand team, legal counsel, and engineers to create compelling experiences for Amazon's customers, with a passion for every word.

Key job responsibilities
- Apply a customer-centered approach to content design, UX writing, and copywriting all along the product development lifecycle.
- Craft detailed product design copy as well as marketing copy
- Produce product content that is clear, helpful, human, scalable, inclusive. You’re attuned to the nuances and interpretations of language.
- Help shape product strategy and vision, thinking long-term and strategically while still achieving quick wins and short-term objectives.
- Develop content frameworks, voice and tone guidelines, product narratives, and other deliverables that explain your recommendations and help people understand the practice of UX writing and content strategy.
- Work with cross-functional partners (designers, researchers, product managers, legal, brand, PR, customer care, operations) to drive consensus across teams and advocate for solutions that balance customer needs and business goals.
- Champion content-first approaches and opportunities. Proactively identify opportunities where language can make a measurable customer impact.


About the team
Prime UX is a team made up of three UX capabilities: research, design, and writing. We partner with design, business, and engineering teams within Prime and across Amazon to create and influence exceptional customer experiences that make Prime the worlds most engaged, satisfying, and loved membership program on Earth. We are the bar raisers and champions of the end-to-end Prime CX. As stewards of the Prime CX, we own, develop, and implement generative customer research and design thinking mechanisms that scale our UX thinking across Amazon teams and organizations.

BASIC QUALIFICATIONS

- 3+ years of design experience
- 3+ years of delivering design solutions as a UX designer or interaction designer experience
- Have an available online portfolio
- Experience prototyping (HTML, XHTML, JavaScript, CSS, Flash or Flash Catalyst, or Axure)

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS

- 2+ years of mass-market consumer web / mobile products experience
- Experience working in a collaborative team and working directly with developers for implementation of designs

Our compensation reflects the cost of labor across several US geographic markets. The base pay for this position ranges from $106,000/year in our lowest geographic market up to $184,000/year in our highest geographic market. Pay is based on a number of factors including market location and may vary depending on job-related knowledge, skills, and experience. Amazon is a total compensation company.
