Amazon Design Technologies is a multi-disciplinary team that designs software, develops product data management (PDM), Computer Aided Design (CAD), Product Life Cycle Management (PLM) solutions, systems platforms and design processes to our Product Development, New Technology, Operations and Manufacturing teams.
We are looking for a PTC Windchill PLM Application development engineer with expertise in Windchill PDMLink and Windchill ProjectLink to play a key role in designing, implementing, and extending the applications used at Amazon using Windchill API's. This position will be responsible for leading the functional design, development, customization, configuration and support of PLM/PDM applications with a primary focus on building and deploying the systems/solutions that scale. Core activities will include gathering and defining requirements, configuration of standard applications, gap analysis, functional design and development of application extensions, and support engineering tools and process automation by collaborating with teams responsible for working with Product Data Management (PDM), Product Lifecycle Management (PLM) and CAD systems. This role will be responsible for, and have significant influence over a portion of projects in the team’s work portfolio providing systems support, engineering application development, testing and deployment of engineering workflows.

The ideal candidate will bring deep expertise in Windchill technologies and a proven track record of delivering enterprise-scale PLM solutions. This role offers significant influence over key technological initiatives that drive Amazon's engineering excellence.

Key job responsibilities
- Provide expertise and execute Windchill upgrades, updates and CPSs installations.
- Responsible for the development, customizations, maintenance and support of PTC Windchill PDMLink and Windchill ProjectLink.
- Interact with business customers to understand and document their business processes and requirements.
- Create business requirements documents, system configuration documents, detailed functional design documents, test plans and test cases, user training documents and implementation documents.
- Diagnose and solve a range of issues, including, but not limited to: software deployment, platform interoperability, PDM and PLM systems, Microsoft SQL, migration strategies, installation and licensing, and software performance.
- Conduct security reviews, software patches to comply with InfoSec policies, system upgrades, license management of the tools and any migration needs.

BASIC QUALIFICATIONS

- 3+ years of work experience in CAD/PDM and PLM systems.
- Experience working with PTC suite of products: Windchill PDMLink, Windchill ProjectLink, Creo.
- BS/MS degree in Mechanical Eng. or Computer Science or a related discipline, or equivalent industry experience.
- Root cause analysis and complex problem-solving skills are important.
- Experience analyzing data and translating business requirements into technical specifications.

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS

- Knowledge on Windchill workflows, Infoengine tasks, Webservices, REST endpoints.
- Experience with query builder to generate custom reports.
- Knowledge of Type and Attributes, OIRs, Lifecycle templates and workflow templates
- Expert knowledge on Windchill Design Patterns and Object ModelBusiness administration managing new users/groups and permissions (ACLs).
- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment where continuous innovation is desired
- History of teamwork and willingness to roll up one’s sleeves to get the job done
- Root cause analysis and complex problem-solving skills are important.
- Experience analyzing data and translating business requirements into technical specifications.

Our compensation reflects the cost of labor across several US geographic markets. The base pay for this position ranges from $104,300/year in our lowest geographic market up to $185,000/year in our highest geographic market. Pay is based on a number of factors including market location and may vary depending on job-related knowledge, skills, and experience. Amazon is a total compensation company.
