We are Amazon's Finance Operations Services organization (FinOps), managing billions in financial transactions across North American Business Channels. Our team drives innovation in payment processing, billing operations, and revenue collection through sophisticated data analytics and process optimization.
As a Senior Financial Analyst in our HQ2 Service Center, you will have the opportunity to:
Drive strategic financial analysis that directly impacts Amazon's cash flow and operational efficiency
Partner with key stakeholders across Amazon's diverse business units, including Sales, Technology, and Finance teams
Own end-to-end process improvements that scale across multiple business channels
Leverage advanced analytics to identify trends, opportunities, and solutions that enhance our financial operations
Design innovative approaches to streamline and automate core business processes
Build and present compelling business cases to senior leadership

Key job responsibilities
• Drive innovation by collaborating with cross-functional teams to integrate scalable Order-to-Cash (O2C) and Procure-to-Pay (P2P) processes, directly impacting Amazon's financial efficiency.
• Engage with senior leaders to shape and execute strategic initiatives, contributing to the long-term success of Amazon's financial operations.
• Lead high-impact financial reporting and planning, providing critical insights and recommendations that influence business decisions.
• Develop and implement systematic approaches to resolve complex vendor payment and contract issues, showcasing your problem-solving skills.
• Utilize your analytical prowess to identify trends, uncover root causes, and propose innovative solutions to enhance our financial processes.
• Harness the power of big data using advanced tools (Excel, SQL, and other data management systems) to generate actionable insights and drive process improvements.
• Demonstrate your adaptability by managing ambiguous situations and communicating effectively with stakeholders across global time zones.

About the team
This is a strategic team with highly skilled team members with high volumes, high ambiguity and high performance standards. The work location is in Arlington VA and team members are expected to work from office.
BASIC QUALIFICATIONS
- 4+ years of tax, finance or a related analytical field experience
- 4+ years of Accounts Receivable or Account Payable experience
- 4+ years of applying key financial performance indicators (KPIs) to analyses experience
- 4+ years of identifying incomplete or inaccurate data, identifying the root cause and creating/implementing an escalation plan experience
- 4+ years of identifying, leading, and executing opportunities to improve, automate, standardize or simplify finance or business tools and processes experience
- 4+ years of Accounts Receivable experience particularly collections and billing
- 4+ years’ experience building financial and operational reports/data sets that inform business decision-making
- 4+ years of experience identifying, leading, and executing opportunities to improve, automate, standardize or simplify finance or business tools and processes
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS
- Flexibility to switch between Accounts Payable (AP) and Accounts Receivable (AR) functions as needed
- 4+ years of experience participating in continuous improvement projects in your team to scale and improve controllership with measurable results
- 4+ years of experience in the transactional accounting field
- 4+ years of experience identifying incomplete or inaccurate data, identifying the root cause and creating/implementing an escalation plan
