The GCF ACES Capacity team is seeking a Business Intelligence Engineer to deliver insights and models to optimize the capacity of the NACF sortable and non-sortable network.
As a Business Intelligence Engineer, you will collaborate with cross-functional teams including Operations, Engineering, Supply Chain, and Finance to identify, monitor, and measure programs that enhance our sortable and non-sortable network's capacity. You will be responsible for data analysis, visualization, dashboards, and automation which directly impact Amazon's ability to meet customer demands while optimizing operational costs. This role will serve as the technical owner of a network specific Max Mechanical Volume (MMV) model, a critical tool that determines capacity thresholds and optimization opportunities.
Key job responsibilities
• Understand the performance and operational characteristics of sortable (IXD & ARS) and non-sortable systems from inbound to outbound dock across all building generations
• Own the design, development, and maintenance of scalable solutions for ongoing metrics, reports, analyses, dashboards, etc. to support analytical and business needs.
• Develop and provide analysis of actionable findings from key metrics or problems. This will require data gathering and manipulation, synthesis and modeling, problem solving, and communication of insights and recommendations
• Work with product and program managers to build data sets and other products that answer their specific business questions
•Collaborate with Data Engineers (DEs) and Business Intelligence Engineers (BIEs) to create data pipelines, and automate manual processes using scripting languages such as Python
• Interface with technology teams to extract, transform, and load data from a wide variety of data sources
• Lead deep dive analysis of business problems, formulate conclusions and recommendations to be presented to senior leadership
• Produce written recommendations and insights for key stakeholders that will help shape effective metric development and reporting

The NACF ACES Capacity team is the source of truth for fulfillment network capacity, spearheading evidence-based solutions and strategic decisions to ensure sustainable growth that outpaces customer demand. We utilize automated modeling and analysis to clearly understand existing under the roof (UTR) constraints. We leverage these insights to prioritize and implement hardware, software, and process changes which eliminate these bottlenecks. We are an organization of experienced, dynamic, and data-driven problem solvers who take the appropriate ownership of initiatives to guarantee their success. We are key partners of short, mid, and long-term planning teams, providing the necessary inputs to make important business decisions which directly impact our customers. Though the Job Details state specific locations, the ACES team is Field by Design and the role can therefore be based out of any Amazon location. Relocation is feasible but not required. Onsite presence is mandatory 5 days per week. Travel may be required up to 50% based on business demand.
BASIC QUALIFICATIONS
- 2+ years of analyzing and interpreting data with Redshift, Oracle, NoSQL etc. experience
- Experience with data visualization using Tableau, Quicksight, or similar tools
- Experience with data modeling, warehousing and building ETL pipelines
- Experience in Statistical Analysis packages such as R, SAS and Matlab
- Experience using SQL to pull data from a database or data warehouse and scripting experience (Python) to process data for modeling
- Knowledge of advanced skills in Excel as well as any data visualization tools like Tableau or similar BI tools (familiarity with Tableau preferred)
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS
- Experience with AWS solutions such as EC2, DynamoDB, S3, and Redshift
- Experience in data mining, ETL, etc. and using databases in a business environment with large-scale, complex datasets

Our compensation reflects the cost of labor across several US geographic markets. The base pay for this position ranges from $89,600/year in our lowest geographic market up to $185,000/year in our highest geographic market. Pay is based on a number of factors including market location and may vary depending on job-related knowledge, skills, and experience. Amazon is a total compensation company.
