As the Sr TPM, you will be a key member of tech leadership and will need to drive forward the technology across Amazon to create a best in class online grocery shopping experience.
We are looking for a Sr Technical Program Manager (TPM) with strong business and technical skills, great communication abilities, and a passion to use data and technologies to help Whole Foods Market, Amazon Fresh, Amazon Go, and Grocery online fulfillment.

We're looking for entrepreneurial and innovative individuals who thrive on solving ambiguous problems.

The Team: We can't wait to show what's possible when Amazon Grocery innovates in order to provide best in class experiences for our in-store and fulfillment center leaders and associates. This is just the beginning and we need exceptional people across all technology disciplines to build and unearth the full potential of this opportunity.

The Role: Everyone on the team needs to be entrepreneurial, wear many hats and work in a highly collaborative environment. As a Sr. TPM, you will help tackle a diverse landscape of challenges. We are an early-stage initiative, and you will play an active role in translating business requirements into concrete timelines and prototyping concepts in partnership with other Amazon teams, technology leaders within the team and across the business.

Key Attributes and Responsibilities

Highly analytical: You solve problems in ways that can be backed up with verifiable data. You focus on driving processes, tools, and statistical methods which support rational decision-making.
Team obsessed: You help grow your team members to achieve results. You foster the creative atmosphere to let engineers innovate, while holding them accountable for making smart decisions and delivering results.
You’re ambitious, yet humble: You recognize that there’s always opportunity for improvement and use introspection and feedback from teammates and peers to raise the bar for your team.
Engaged by ambiguity: You're able to explore new problem spaces with unique constraints and thus non-obvious solutions; you’re quick to identify any gaps in the team and the right person to fill them to best deliver value to customers.

You will:

Own program vision and direction: You identify problems and develop solutions; you embrace performance metrics and measurement techniques because they help you assess how well system-related services are running.
Lead beyond your team: You will be a key part of a small but growing community of engineering leaders who support their teams and contribute to the overall growth of our product development organization. You'll share your experience and technical acumen in order to drive technology decisions across our organization.

You will be working alongside some of the smartest engineers at Amazon and Whole Foods out of Austin, TX, the best city for BBQ and live music. Line dancing and wearing cowboy boots to the office are optional. Most importantly you’ll be contributing to our Higher Purpose of Nourishing People and the Planet!
