DESCRIPTION

Amazon is seeking an analytical, driven, and detail-oriented Business Intelligence Engineer (BIE) to build the data foundation and insights engine for the Fleet Maintenance Audit & Risk Program. You will partner closely with Product, Tech, Finance, and Operations teams to design robust data solutions that help detect anomalies, mitigate fraud, improve vendor performance, and drive controllership across Last Mile fleet maintenance.

This role is an exciting opportunity to help build an audit program from the ground up, leveraging advanced analytics and scalable data infrastructure to surface risks, track performance, and enable better decision-making across the Last Mile fleet ecosystem.

Key job responsibilities
- Partner with Product Managers to define key metrics and thresholds for detecting outliers, cost anomalies, and fraudulent behavior in Maintenance and Repair (M&R) data.
- Design and implement data pipelines, ETL processes, and data models to support audit workflows and operational dashboards.
- Build interactive dashboards and visualizations (using Tableau, QuickSight, etc.) to monitor vendor performance, compliance adherence, and fleet M&R trends.
- Conduct deep-dives and root cause analyses using large datasets to identify inefficiencies and improvement opportunities.
- Automate and standardize KPI reporting, ensuring data accuracy and timely delivery.
- Leverage AWS services (e.g., Redshift, Glue, Lambda, S3) to build scalable and secure analytics solutions.
- Support experimentation and simulation efforts to evaluate changes in process, pricing, or vendor behavior using statistical techniques.

About the team
Amazon Logistics’ mission is to provide the best last mile customer experience delivering each package to the customer’s doorstep through a choice of innovative delivery options. To provide this customer experience, Amazon Logistics works closely with Last Mile Delivery Service Partners who operate and manage a fleet of vehicles and drivers. Fleet maintenance is a significant “area of opportunity”, as current options are often inefficient, ineffective, and more expensive than they should be. To mitigate these challenges, we are developing and launching transformative programs to ease the burden of fleet maintenance on our Delivery Service Providers.
