DESCRIPTION

Imagine stepping into a role where every decision you make ripples across Amazon's global supply chain, affecting millions of sellers and customers worldwide. This isn't just another product management position – it's a strategic command center where you'll orchestrate the fusion of GenAI technology with complex supply chain dynamics. The challenge before you is both fascinating and formidable. Every day, millions of products flow through Amazon's fulfillment network, each carrying the potential for defects that can cascade into significant operational disruptions. Your mission? To harness the power of generative AI and advanced analytics to not just identify these defects, but to predict and prevent them before they materialize. If you find this exciting, join Defect Prevention and Reconciliation (DP&R) team!

At DP&R, we are building a future where we capture, analyze, and explain every inventory defect across all stages of the supply chain (i.e. inbound, distribution, storage, fulfillment, returns). If you have an entrepreneurial spirit, know how to deliver, love to work with data, are deeply technical, highly innovative and long for the opportunity to build solutions to challenging problems that directly impact the company's bottom-line, we want to talk to you.

We are seeking an experienced Principal Product Manager to spearhead our mission-critical global initiative in Supply Chain Defects Identification. This role sits at the intersection of customer experience, seller success, and operational excellence, requiring a leader who can navigate complex challenges with clarity and purpose. The landscape you'll navigate is marked by ambiguity and complexity. You'll face questions that don't have easy answers: How do you build AI systems that can understand and adapt to thousands of unique seller scenarios? How do you create predictive models that work across diverse global markets with different regulatory requirements and business practices? How do you influence seller behavior at scale while maintaining trust and partnership? Your mission will be to transform complex supply chain challenges into elegant, seller-facing tools that drive efficiency and accuracy. Your journey will begin with understanding the pulse of our customers, sellers, and internal stakeholders.

The visibility of this role extends to the highest levels of Amazon's leadership. You'll be the architect of solutions that directly impact the company's bottom line, requiring you to balance multiple stakeholders' needs while driving innovative approaches to supply chain challenges. When defect patterns emerge that could affect millions in revenue, all eyes will turn to your team for answers. In this role, you'll orchestrate collaboration across a diverse ecosystem of teams – from tech and data science to finance and business units. Your ability to influence and align multiple stakeholders will be crucial as you guide products from conception to launch. You'll be the conductor of a complex symphony, ensuring every team moves in harmony toward common goals. Strategic thinking will be at the heart of your work.

Your canvas will be vast and multifaceted. One day you might be deep in discussion with AI researchers about the latest large language model applications for defect prediction. The next, you could be presenting to senior leadership about your strategy for reducing global inbound defects through behavioral economics and intelligent automation. You'll need to be equally comfortable discussing technical architecture with engineers as you are debating business strategy with executives.

The ambiguity in this space is not a bug – it's a feature. You'll often find yourself charting courses through uncharted territories, whether it's developing new approaches to seller incentivization or creating first-of-their-kind AI applications for supply chain optimization. Success will require not just technical and business acumen, but also the ability to build consensus among diverse stakeholders who may have competing priorities. This role sits at a critical intersection where technology meets human behavior. You'll need to understand not just what AI can do, but how to apply it in ways that positively influence seller actions and decisions. Your solutions will need to be not just technically sophisticated but also intuitive and valuable for sellers of all sizes, from small businesses to large enterprises.

The stakes are high, but so is the potential for impact. You'll be pioneering the application of GenAI in one of the world's most complex supply chains, setting new standards for how technology can transform supply chain operations. Your work will help define how Amazon approaches defect prevention for years to come, potentially saving millions in operational costs while improving the experience for both sellers and customers.

If you thrive in environments where complexity is the norm, where ambiguity is an opportunity for innovation, and where your decisions can reshape global commerce, this role offers an unparalleled platform to make your mark. We're looking for a leader who can see through the complexity to find elegant solutions, who can navigate ambiguity with confidence, and who is energized by the challenge of transforming how one of the world's largest companies approaches supply chain excellence.
