Position: Tax Analyst II
Location: Seattle, WA
Multiple Positions Available:
1. Identify and extract relevant financial and quantitative data from various back-end source systems in order to provide sophisticated financial analysis and validate accuracy of extracted
data to support the development and execution of various non-income tax initiatives and ensure data requirements and processes meet tax planning, compliance and audit functions.
2. Prepare and/or review monthly, quarterly, and annual indirect tax filings including but not limited to sales tax, use tax, gross receipts tax, WA business & occupation tax, unclaimed
property, regulatory fees and similar taxes.
3. Research and generate use tax accruals and other indirect tax accruals.
4. Assist with economic incentive reporting requirements.
5. Develop and implement process improvements across the entire state and local indirect tax compliance.
6. Ensure compliance with state and local indirect tax laws and regulations.
7. Prepare business requirements, business rules, data classifications, user acceptance and data compliance mapping documents for a transactional database.
8. Analyze transactional level data to determine root-cause issues affecting data quality and compliance return mapping.
9. Educate others, apply business context to provide broader understanding of policies, practices, systems, and procedures for end-to-end processes.
10. Develop processes for data collection that are scalable and auditable; identify data requirements during process design.
11. Implement, maintain, and test required internal controls; remediate issues. Identify, articulate, and escalate potential gaps for internal controls within their scope; propose control
changes to remediate gaps.
12. Assist in identifying, communicating, documenting, and driving resolution of issues, changing tax positions, and tax-related business enhancements across the tax organization and
businesses.
13. Provide guidance based on research of transaction tax laws and regulations using RIA Checkpoint and other resources, and document and present advanced tax concepts and
propose conclusions; deliver concise analysis and corresponding narratives to key stakeholders.
14. Prepare various deliverables to support both internal and external financial reporting and processing needs, and account analysis in order to achieve business goals.
