We are looking for a Software Development Engineer II to build the GenAI powered experience and technology for Amazonians to get state of the art HR support. In this role you will work on building AI powered employee experience, where employees can manage their professional and personal life events, and do their day-to-day work of innovating on behalf of their customers, without any issue. You will collaborate with our Principal Engineers and SDE3s to tackle complex challenges like multi-agent orchestrators, working with MCP servers and low-latency GenAI solutions. We are building a GenAI-based ' process automation for employee experiences.





Key job responsibilities
- Ability to build highly scalable engineering solutions
- Ability to deliver working features spanning the full software lifecycle including working backwards from customers, software design, implementation, testing, and deployment, operations, and documentation.
- Ability to write high-quality code
- Ability to coach other SDE2s and SDE1s on producing high quality code, using processes such as code review as a teaching mechanism.
- Ability to quickly root cause software bugs and eliminate with a permanent fix.
- Take on projects where the business problem and technology strategy are well understood but the implementations are not fully fleshed-out.
- Balance constraints, limiting the use of short-term workarounds.
- Produce software that can be maintained and extended by those not familiar with the code by writing clear documentation and making good design choices.
- Seek guidance from their manager, Sr. Engineers, or PEs when facing tradeoffs.
