This role will be the primary European country leader for our Global National Security and Defence Team (NSD). You will set priority countries (6-7), then build the business with the in-country AWS field teams.
The global NSD market segment (not including the US) exceeds $50B in annual IT infrastructure and services spend. But, more importantly it is a critical segment for the security of a country and its citizens. To make a greater impact in this segment, we need to earn trust with global NSD customers, build key industry partnerships and position the AWS solution portfolio for mission requirements (often classified). AWS relies on single threaded leaders to identify enduring customer needs, work back from
customer needs, and then lead internal teams to deliver secure customer outcomes.

Key job responsibilities
You will be working directly with European NSD government leaders to reshape legacy perspectives of using technology to stay ahead of threats and transforming organizations to move with speed and agility.
You are responsible for building relationships with key government and private sector NSD stakeholders, disrupting legacy thinking around cloud use for NSD missions, creating opportunity pipeline, and working with the field teams to grow the business. Operationally, this role is responsible for building go to market plans, identifying priority countries/agencies, educating the AWS field teams to understand the NSD segment, delivering executive briefings/presentations in English/German/French other European Languages, and driving a portfolio of opportunities to closure.
