DESCRIPTION

We are looking for a high caliber and tested Salesforce Engineer to be a part of a project with strategic significance and high exposure. In this role you will help build and define the designs of the team’s Salesforce.com (SFDC) environment. You will apply both business and technical acumen in a fast-paced, ambiguous and innovative environment.

You’ll join a diverse team of software, hardware, and network engineers, supply chain specialists, security experts, operations managers, and other vital roles. You’ll collaborate with people across AWS to help us deliver the highest standards for safety and security while providing seemingly infinite capacity at the lowest possible cost for our customers. Did you know there's an estimated 2.5 Billion miles of fiber optical cables placed all around the world!? These cables are deployed underground, on power poles and even along the ocean floor.

This team within the Global Connectivity and Infrastructure Development Organization builds tools to improve the velocity of the acquisition and deployment of AWS network infrastructure across the globe.

We are looking for a developer with strong computer science fundamentals, including UX design, data structures, object-oriented design, algorithm design, problem solving, and complexity analysis. If you have a track record of designing and building scalable, complex solutions across distributed systems in an agile environment, we want to talk to you.


Key job responsibilities
•Build and champion a clear strategy and roadmap for solution and all supporting commercial technology.
•Partner with commercial stakeholders to establish a commercial technology roadmap that is aligned to the business strategy and growth goals and maximizes value of connected applications and other third-party tools.
•Collaborate with stakeholders to effectively document and drive platform changes and improvements, working together with technical support resources.
•Serve as the product expert in cross functional efforts to support a timely delivery of high impact projects and acts as the primary support and point of contact for Salesforce.com internal team and system integrations.
•Develop, customize, and administer modules, objects, workflows, dashboards, interfaces, reports, or access levels.
•Ensure integration and data exchange between Salesforce and external services, providers, or platforms.
•Identify and mitigate risks, dependencies, and impacts across cross-functional business and technology team.
•Identify opportunities to improve or automate current state business processes.

A day in the life
The Salesforce Engineer role is within a small, but critical team within the Global Connectivity Infrastructure Development organization. The team has a wide range of responsibilities: we develop tooling roadmaps, implement process solutions, collaborate with peers and stakeholders across organizations to ensure our employees have the efficient tools and processes to execute on their goals. Our infrastructure moves terabits of traffic across the globe to and from the Internet at any given moment, and represents one of the largest networks in the world, requiring complex solutions to ensure that our employees can provide network capacity and always stay ahead of demand.
