Position Responsibilities:

Work with customers, senior engineers and managers to research and define "software quality" for Amazon products. Create and use data mining and analysis tools to measure, track and analyze quality metrics. Drive improvements in consistency and accuracy of software quality data. Perform testability design reviews for new products and features. Oversee development and maintenance of complex large-scale systems from the quality standpoint. Invent, design, implement and maintain testing tools and frameworks for multiple teams across Amazon. Coach teams on test planning, prioritization, automation; consult on technical and process improvements to reduce software quality risks. Provide advice and mentoring to more junior members of the team. Lead the community of quality owners across Amazon. Develop and give presentations on the recommended tools and practices for QA. Structure QA documentation and lead efforts to enrich and maintain it. Recruit and interview candidates for SDET I, II and III positions.

Position Requirements:

Master's degree or foreign equivalent degree in Computer Science, Engineering, Mathematics, or a related technical field and one year of experience in the job offered or related occupation. Employer will accept a Bachelor's degree or foreign equivalent degree in Computer Science, Engineering, Mathematics, or a related technical field and five years of progressive post-baccalaureate experience in the job offered or related occupation as equivalent to the Master's degree and one year of experience. Must have one year of experience in the following skill(s): (1) designing, implementing, documenting, and maintaining test automation programs for large-scale, distributed software systems or applications using: Java, C++, or SQL; and (2) defining and driving data-driven QA strategies for multiple teams.
