We're looking for an excellent Software Engineer who combines superb technical, research and analytical capabilities with a demonstrated ability to get the right things done quickly and effectively. This person must be comfortable working with a team of top-notch developers and collaborating with our research teams. We’re looking for someone who innovates, and loves solving hard problems. Export Control License
This position may require a deemed export control license for compliance with applicable laws and regulations. Placement is contingent on Amazon’s ability to apply for and obtain an export control license on your behalf.

Key job responsibilities
- Develop deep expertise in the drone-delivery workflow and continuously drive workflow and drone-flight scheduling optimizations to improve delivery speed and overall throughput.
- Design and build scalable, highly available distributed systems that meet strict performance, reliability, extensibility, and maintainability standards.

- Drive improvements in code quality, design patterns, and engineering best practices, mentoring junior engineers and raising the technical bar for the team.

- Collaborate with PMs, internal customers, and partner teams to define technical requirements, clarify trade-offs, and deliver customer-focused outcomes.

- Troubleshoot complex production issues, perform deep root-cause analysis, and implement long-term fixes to improve system stability and operational health.
