Sr Technical Program Manager - Amazon Leo (Flight Electronics)
Amazon
Description
At Amazon, we’re inventing on behalf of customers, and with Amazon Leo, we’re redefining what global connectivity looks like. Our mission is to deliver fast, affordable broadband to unserved and underserved communities around the world through a constellation of low Earth orbit (LEO) satellites. Every system we build helps connect people to education, healthcare, opportunity, and each other.
We are seeking a Senior Technical Program Manager (TPM) to lead Flight Electronics development. This role sits at the intersection of hardware, software, manufacturing, and systems engineering, driving complex programs that ultimately become part of the LEO satellite infrastructure powering global connectivity.
About the Role
In this role, you will act as the single-threaded TPM for flight electronics systems. Your TPM leadership will drive delivery of complex projects involving system architecture, communication systems, electrical design, mechanical design, thermal design, manufacturing, test concepts, and embedded software. Your ability to bring clarity and alignment to high-impact program(s) enables the team to increase velocity of delivery.
This is an individual contributor role with broad organizational influence. You’ll drive alignment and execution through technical depth, strong program fundamentals, and trusted partnerships, driving work across engineering, operations, and production.
Key job responsibilities
• Lead flight electronics programs that span power systems, compute platforms, mechanical packaging, communication systems, thermal management, and embedded software
• Partner closely with hardware, firmware, software, reliability, and manufacturing teams to define what “done” looks like at the system level
• Develop and manage integrated schedules, dependencies, risks, and tradeoffs in a high-speed, high-complexity environment
• Understand power modes, power budgets, and lifecycle considerations for mission-critical electronics
• Translate architectural decisions, from PCBA design to enclosure and thermal solutions, into executable plans
• Guide manufacturing readiness, including build processes, test strategies, and system bring-up
• Act as the central point of alignment across teams, keeping them aligned on ownership, sequencing, and delivery while adapting quickly as conditions change
