Reliability and Maintenance Engineer
Amazon
Description
The RME Coordinator serves as a vital member of the Engineering RME function, working with the RMEAM , RME AE's, RMEP and directly under the guidance of the RMEM. This role is strategically positioned to drive the management and continuous improvement of Amazon Robotics reliability through the disciplined application of continuous improvement tools and methodologies.
At the heart of this position lies the ownership of asset performance optimization. The coordinator develops, facilitates and implements comprehensive asset performance strategies utilizing advanced reliability techniques including Failure Mode and Effects Analysis (FMEA), Criticality Analysis and Root Cause Analysis (RCA). Through these methodologies, the role drives an optimized cost and reliability model, focusing on maximizing Mean Time Between Failures (MTBF) while minimizing Mean Time To Repair (MTTR) across all assigned asset areas. This data-driven approach leverages Asset Performance Management systems, inventory usage analytics, and reliability metrics to continuously identify opportunities for both performance enhancement and cost optimization.
The coordinator plays a crucial role in executing the site's maintenance strategy, ensuring alignment with company standards and industry best practices. This includes coordinating Original Equipment Manufacturer activities and managing relationships with external contractors to guarantee quality deliverables. Throughout all improvement initiatives, the coordinator ensures effective coordination with safety and quality priorities, managing risks to both people and product by strictly adhering to site procedures and industry standards.
Beyond technical execution, the RME Coordinator serves as a knowledge leader and coach for shift-based RME teams. The role delivers targeted coaching and training sessions, facilitating effective communication across all shifts while promoting standardized ways of working. This developmental focus extends to creating and maintaining engineering procedures and standards that ensure improvement work delivers sustainable results through rigorous review and change control processes.
The position demands a proactive, analytical mindset combined with strong technical expertise in mechanical, Electrical, pneumatic, excellent stakeholder management capabilities and commitment to safety and continuous improvement. The RME Coordinator acts as a bridge between strategic reliability initiatives and operational execution, ensuring that AUH1's Building and Material handling Equipment's infrastructure operates at peak performance while continuously evolving to meet future demands.

A day in the life
Additional to the Daily Routines above, the RME Coordinator need to fitful the below:
Shift Handover & Area Readiness
The RME Coordinator receives shift handover from the previous coordinator, reviewing the EOS Shift Report, performance metrics across Operations and RME functions, team escalations and key observations. The coordinator ensures RME Flow Room Area Readiness by following FOB Policy, updating the RME Team Board, verifying Permits to Work and confirming the work order shift plan aligns with technician skills and qualifications per the skill matrix.
Stand-Up Meeting
The coordinator delivers the daily stand-up meeting covering safety tips (floor observations, recent incidents, safety notices), success stories from shift reports and team goals, critical communications including building announcements and escalations, shift goals based on operational volume and planned maintenance completion, critical APM work orders, any backlog from previous shifts, staffing verification, operational barriers or enablers for RME work and gaps in area readiness.
Floor Presence & Monitoring
The coordinator conducts multi-floor walks per shift across Inbound, RME areas and Outbound areas to verify safety compliance with RME Safety Policies , identify barriers to daily PM plan implementation and collect technician feedback. Throughout the shift, the coordinator maintains active presence in the flow room, monitoring progress through SCADA and OEE systems while responding to escalations from technicians, Operations, or other teams with focus on safety, quality, customer promise, and productivity.
Training & Development Oversight
