About the Team:
RBS Brand Experience (BX) enables worldwide brands (FBA Sellers and Retail Vendors) with strategic, actionable insights and recommendations through brands-facing solutions, self-help tools, and updated policies to empower them to take a customer backwards approach that drives business growth while reducing the Cost to Serve for both Amazon and Brands. We do this by: 1) identifying and validating underserved Brand pain points, 2) building proof of concept, solution and capabilities in partnership with Brands, 3) scaling the solution by leveraging tech, 4) launching full scale brand facing solutions to WW brands, and 5) continuously improve solutions through control mechanisms (such as; monitoring impact, user base, adoption, GTM).
Job Overview:
Amazon's Brand Experience (BX) team is seeking an exceptional Senior UX Designer to transform complex brand challenges into intuitive, scalable solutions that drive seller and vendor success. In this role, you will lead user research initiatives, conduct discovery workshops, and translate insights into compelling design solutions. You will collaborate closely with product management and engineering to design wireframes, user flows, and high-quality UX solutions. You will influence the product roadmap and ensure our services are highly usable for both builders and non-technical customers, while revamping existing product experiences to create richer, more engaging interactions for users.
Key Responsibilities:
• Lead comprehensive user research initiatives including user interviews, usability testing, and competitive analysis to inform design decisions and validate solutions
• Plan and facilitate customer discovery sessions, workshops, and feedback loops to deeply understand user needs, pain points, and behaviors
• Synthesize research findings into actionable insights that drive product strategy and design direction
• Lead the end-to-end delivery of simplified solutions for the best outcome, present a variety of those solutions, and represent the benefits and challenges with each approach
• Handle complex problems/efforts, decisions, and escalations as well as determine where to simplify or extend solutions for the best outcome
• Mitigate long-term risks, balance short- vs. long-term needs, and operate effectively at both strategic and tactical levels
• Lead org reviews and critiques, and craft/present key narratives (e.g., 6-pagers, business reviews, PR/FAQs, OP1/OP2 inputs) to leadership and cross-functional teams to drive focus and outcomes
• Influence product and engineering decisions by bringing the customer perspective, guiding design choices, and driving long-term impact
• Set the standard for design excellence while driving clarity in ambiguous initiatives where problems, strategies, requirements, or technical feasibility are undefined
• Advise partner teams and senior leaders on org goals and design strategy, influencing engineering decisions to enable UX solutions and driving outcomes across teams and geographies
Basic qualifications
• 5 to 7 years of experience as a user experience designer, interaction designer, information architect, or similar role
• An online portfolio or samples of work demonstrating experience creating great user-centered design solutions is a requirement for application
• Communication and collaboration skills with proven experience partnering with developers to implement designs.
• Demonstrated ability to thrive in fast-paced, ambiguous environments by multitasking, driving design reviews to closure, and collaborating effectively across organizational boundaries.
• Fluency in best practices for web-based information architecture and design, as well as knowledge of usability principles and techniques
• Proficient in web design considerations, with a background in design/HCI (or equivalent experience) and expertise in tools like Photoshop, Illustrator, Fireworks, and Visio.
• Skilled in creating interactive prototypes with design aesthetics and a focus on simplicity over complexity.
