We're looking for a tenured Mechanical Engineer with demonstrated ability to design and deliver hardware solutions in a fast-paced R&D environment, from custom test fixturing to prototype hardware development. This position supports structural analysis and development activities for satellite programs, requiring hands-on design capabilities and creative problem-solving to enable testing and hardware development initiatives.
Key job responsibilities
- Independently design and develop custom test fixturing for coupon-level and large-scale structural testing for a variety of environments from high level requirements
- Create detailed CAD models and drawings for prototype hardware, test articles, and hardware modifications to support R&D activities
- Collaborate with structural analysts and multidisciplinary teams (thermal, electrical, manufacturing, test) to translate requirements into mechanical design solutions
- Support test planning, execution, and data collection activities throughout the development cycle
- Interface with suppliers and vendors for component sourcing, fabrication specifications, and procurement support
- Iterate designs rapidly based on test results, analytical feedback, and evolving program requirements
- Produce complete design packages including detailed drawings, BOMs, and assembly documentation
About the team
The Structural Integrity and Analysis team is responsible for Structural Integrity of not only the spacecraft but all other commodities supporting the program, inside and outside of Mechanical Engineering group.
