Description

Amazon Leo is an initiative to increase global broadband access through a constellation of 3,236 satellites in low Earth orbit (LEO). Its mission is to bring fast, affordable broadband to unserved and underserved communities around the world. Amazon Leo will help close the digital divide by delivering fast, affordable broadband to a wide range of customers, including consumers, businesses, government agencies, and other organizations operating in places without reliable connectivity.

We are looking for a Senior Technical Program Manager (TPM) to lead the development and production of flight electronics systems that power Leo’s satellite constellation. This is a high-impact role where your work will directly influence how quickly and reliably we deploy satellites to orbit.

As a Senior Technical Program Manager for Flight Electronics, you will own the end-to-end technical program strategy for the systems that control and enable Kuiper satellites, from architecture and design through qualification testing and high-rate production.

You will partner with cross-functional engineering teams across electrical, embedded software, RF systems, test engineering, and manufacturing to ensure flight electronics meet the demanding requirements of space while scaling production for a constellation of thousands of satellites.

This role sits at the intersection of systems engineering, hardware development, integration and test, and manufacturing scale-up. Success requires deep technical judgment, strong program leadership, and the ability to drive alignment across complex engineering organizations.

Key job responsibilities
Lead Complex Flight Electronics Programs End-to-End
Own the technical program strategy for the flight electronics systems that power Leo satellites. You will drive programs from early architecture and design through integration, qualification testing, and high-rate production, ensuring these critical systems meet performance, reliability, and schedule requirements. Your leadership will directly influence how quickly and reliably satellites can be deployed to orbit as part of Amazon’s global broadband constellation.

Drive Cross-Functional Engineering Execution
Serve as the central program leader across a diverse set of engineering disciplines including electrical engineering, embedded software, RF systems, systems engineering, integration and test, reliability, and manufacturing. You will align teams across organizations, remove obstacles, and ensure complex technical programs move forward with speed, clarity, and accountability.

Manage System-Level Technical Decisions
Work closely with engineering leadership to drive technical trade studies and design decisions that balance performance, cost, manufacturability, and schedule. You will help manage system-level constraints such as power, mass, thermal, and communication performance, ensuring flight electronics systems integrate seamlessly with satellite subsystems and the broader constellation architecture.

Own Program Planning, Milestones, and Risk Management
Develop and maintain program plans that track major milestones across design reviews, integration activities, qualification testing, and production readiness. You will proactively identify technical and programmatic risks, build mitigation strategies, and communicate clear status updates to engineering leaders and senior stakeholders to ensure alignment across the organization.

Enable Successful Integration and Test Campaigns
Partner with integration and test teams to define verification and validation strategies that demonstrate system performance and flight readiness. You will coordinate complex testing activities, including subsystem integration, system-level validation, and environmental qualification testing, to ensure flight hardware meets the demanding conditions of the space environment.

Scale Hardware Development into High-Rate Production
Help transition flight electronics from development prototypes into high-volume satellite manufacturing, supporting one of the largest satellite constellations ever built. You will collaborate with manufacturing and supply chain teams to improve production readiness, increase reliability, and drive cost-effective scaling of satellite hardware.

Help Build the Infrastructure That Connects the World
The programs you lead will become core components of Amazon’s satellite network, enabling reliable broadband connectivity for communities around the globe. Your work will help bring high-speed internet access to millions of people who currently lack it, expanding access to education, healthcare, and economic opportunity.

Export Control Requirement:
Due to applicable export control laws and regulations, candidates must be a U.S. citizen or national, U.S. permanent resident (i.e., current Green Card holder), or lawfully admitted into the U.S. as a refugee or granted asylum.
