Software Development Engineer, AWS End User Messaging
Amazon
Description
As part of the AWS Applied AI Solutions organization, we have a vision to provide business applications, leveraging Amazon’s unique experience and expertise, that are used by millions of companies worldwide to manage day-to-day operations. We will accomplish this by accelerating our customers’ businesses through delivery of intuitive and differentiated technology solutions that solve enduring business challenges. We blend vision with curiosity and Amazon’s real-world experience to build opinionated, turnkey solutions. Where customers prefer to buy over build, we become their trusted partner with solutions that are no-brainers to buy and easy to use.
AWS End User Messaging is hiring a software engineer to help accomplish this vision. We build and operate large scale messaging systems enabling developers to reach their customers via WhatsApp, Push (Apple, Google), SMS, and Voice. Chances are quite high you've received notifications that we've handled; we've delivered notifications at scale on behalf of our customers for everything from Prime Day, to COVID-19 test results, to major news events. Our newest channel, End User Messaging Social (WhatsApp), launched in 2024 and we're continuing to iterate and innovate as customer demand increases.
Our roadmap is full, and our team is growing. We could use your help - join us!
Key job responsibilities
We are looking for people that are self-driven, able to deal with ambiguity, passionate about innovating, enjoy working on challenging front-end/back-end integration problems, and motivated to learn about a broad set of technologies. Comfort and skill using GenAI to generate production-quality code and automated processes is preferred.
As an End User Messaging engineer, you will work with the team to design, build, launch and support customer facing APIs, backend infrastructure, and console experiences. Our services are built primarily in Java, along with a Typescript/React AWS console.
