Description

We are seeking a highly skilled Camera sub-system Engineer to support the Ring camera product family across all development and manufacturing phases, from EVT and DVT to MP.
This role requires strong capability in camera sub-system design understanding, process validation, and FACA-based issue analysis, ensuring the camera sub-system meets design intent and mass-production quality standards.
The engineer will collaborate closely with Optics, ME, EE, IQ, TE, and supplier engineering teams to ensure stability, manufacturability, and performance of the camera module throughout development and production.

Key job responsibilities
Camera sub-system Design & Validation
• Lead camera hardware design and validation across EVT/DVT/PVT/MP to ensure alignment with system-level design intent.
• Collaborate with lens, sensor, and ICR suppliers to analyze optical, mechanical, and electrical characteristics.
• Participate in design simulations, tolerance analysis, and component characterization.
• Review module design, assembly constraints, alignment parameters, and manufacturability considerations.
Process Engineering & FACA
• Manage and monitor SMT, COB, HDM, AA, and Test processes to ensure production stability and high yield.
• Lead FACA (Failure Analysis and Corrective Action) for optical, process, and assembly-related issues.
• Conduct systematic root-cause analysis using design knowledge, process data, and statistical tools.
• Validate supplier corrective actions and confirm their effectiveness prior to mass production.
• Support DOE, GRR, correlation studies, and process-window optimization.
Data Analysis & Reporting
• Analyze image quality and process data using Excel, JMP, Python, or similar tools.
• Correlate design parameters with process capability and yield performance.
• Prepare clear, structured technical reports for cross-functional communication.
• Support HQ–factory test station setup, calibration, and correlation alignment.
Cross-Functional Collaboration
• Work closely with Optics, ME, EE, IQ, and TE teams on system integration and production readiness.
• Collaborate with camera sub-system manufacturer to optimize process flow, control plans, and assembly parameters.
• Maintain and update process documentation such as flow charts, parameter sheets, control plans, and checklists.
